Llanrumney Phoenix Boxing Club and Community Activities Annual Report

2024 / 2025 Period

The club has been thriving for the past financial year. There is not much more to report on than the previous year as the work continues year in year out.

The club have offered a lot of half term and holiday provision for free. This provision gives the children something to eat, a chance to make friends, become active and have a safe space to play over the holiday. This provision also helps parents with childcare and has been a great success. This is something the club are building on and will keep offering for free as its most definitely needed. Holiday provision is offered for the Easter and Summer holidays and offer a variety of activities for the children of the community and wider to take part in. The club are thinking of offering a Feb and May half term provision too to meet the need.

The club have a partnership with the Prevent programme, helping young people at risk of radicalisation and ideology, grooming and exploitation. Young people are referred in as and when they need the help and support.

The club have had great success with the amateurs who use the gym. The club is often used by a lot of professional boxers and has had visits from both BBC, ITV, DAZN and many more to film. The professional boxers who use the gym bring a lot of visibility to the gym and they will always highlight the good work of the club.

The addition of 3 new women’s classes has gone from strength to strength and really building a sense of community to the women in the area. The club have also designed a new project to tackle obesity and isolation. Well Fit is in its 3rd programme and the club will look to build on this. The club designed a programme called Well Fit which brought women and men together to build confidence and get them active and looking after their mental wellbeing

There is a lot of activity at the club and its thriving. The help and support offered to the community is second to none.
