Chair’s Statement
Alhamdulillah, by the Grace of Almighty Allah, Beka Welfare Trust continued to serve those in need throughout 2024.
Despite limited financial resources, our volunteers and community supporters ensured that help reached hundreds of individuals and families — through food, clothing, education, and digital inclusion.
This year, the Trust focused on community integration, support for vulnerable groups, and strengthening unity through acts of compassion. We are deeply grateful to every donor, partner, and volunteer who made our mission possible.
Community Impact Summary – 2024

| Category | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Food Distributed | 720meals |
| Clothing Provided | 423suits |

Throughout 2024, Beka Welfare Trust continued to receive heartfelt community support through generous non-financial contributions.
Most of the food distributed during the year was kindly donated by local residents, restaurants, and takeaways across Swindon. Although the Trust funded food provisions on a few occasions, the majority of meals came freely from our compassionate local supporters who shared what they had for the sake of Allah.
Over 420 pieces or full suits of clothing, including both men’s and women’s garments, along with blankets and duvets, were donated by local people and distributed among deserving families and individuals in need — providing warmth, dignity, and relief.
Furthermore, three individuals donated IT equipment to help students continue their education, ensuring they could access their studies and online resources without interruption.

To build confidence and digital awareness within the community, three practical workshops were organised by the Trust. These sessions focused on improving IT and language skills, helping participants learn how to use important online platforms such as the NHS app and other essential services confidently and independently .

Community support peaked during Ramadan, and again in October, November, and December when local restaurants, takeaways, and generous individuals contributed food and resources to support those in need.
🕌 Next Project: Establishing a Permanent Community Hub in Swindon
Despite limited resources, Beka Welfare Trust is taking a determined step forward — to purchase permanent premises in Swindon where our charitable and community activities can take place in an organised and sustainable way throughout the year.
This proposed center will, Insha’Allah, serve as a dedicated space for:
-
Educational support sessions – tutoring, ESOL, digital skills, and youth mentoring.
-
Women’s empowerment workshops – helping build confidence and employability.
-
Senior citizens programmes – offering digital learning, health awareness, and wellbeing sessions.
-
Food and clothing distribution – especially during Ramadan, winter, and other peak times of need.
To bring this vision to life, a nationwide fundraising campaign will be launched, inviting individuals, families, and businesses to contribute towards this noble cause.

Independent Examiner’s Report
I report on the accounts of Beka Welfare Trust for the year ended 31 December 2024. The charity’s Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Trustees consider that an audit is not required under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 and that an independent examination is appropriate.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the Charity Commission Directions. An examination includes reviewing the accounting records and comparing the accounts presented with those records. It also considers unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, seeking explanations from the Trustees as necessary. The procedures undertaken do not provide the assurance required in an audit, and no opinion is expressed as to whether the accounts give a 'true and fair view.'
In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that: (1) Proper accounting records have not been kept; or (2) The accounts do not accord with the records; or (3) The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
I have no concerns and have found no material misstatements in the accounts.
