**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document:** For the benefit of the inhabitants of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire and the surrounding area to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of the area without distinction of sex, or of political, religious or other opinions in particular, but not exclusively, by the preservation, promotion, support, assistance and improvement of Rhyddings Park. 

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects:** 

The delivery of a community events programme based on the NHS five steps to well being, aiming to enable people within our community to connect with others (reducing social isolation), be active, take notice; give to others by volunteering 8 learning new skills The community events programme 



offers something for all with appropriate adaptation and support to enable as many members of the community to access the Coach House. 

## **34 Volunteers actively support the charity.** 

## **Roles** 

Beekeepers;  Carpenters; Gardeners; Social Media and Website Management; Event Support; Cook; Café Staff; Facilitators ( Examples - Park Your Worries, Carers’ Support, Overcoming Low Mood & Depression, Knit & Natter ); Finances; Project Lead; Grants management 

## **Community Events Programme** 

Over 400 people use the Coach House & Kitchen Garden for activities supporting their well being per week.

- When café closed, used for refreshments across all sessions, facilitators manage

- Exercise to Music 

- Zen Yoga x 7 sessions per week 

- Circuit x 3 sessions a week 

- Seated Exercise 1:1 + 1 group session per week 

- Knit & Natter, Crochet & Chat 

- 1:1 Boxercise for Autistic People x 3 sessions a week 

- Health Walk for people with Learning Disability and Autistic People 

- Rhyddings Wombles – litter picking 

- Garden Volunteering 6 sessions per week 

- Zen Workshops 

- Mindfulness and Relaxation Workshops 

- Mindful crafts 

- Yoga Nidra 

- Kettlebells x 2 sessions per week 

- Qi Gong x 3 sessions per week 

- Seasonal Afternoon Teas 

- Seasonal Wreath Making 

- Christmas Events 

- Beekeeping 

- Bootcamps x 5 sessions a week 

- Boxercise x 3 sessions per week 

- ADHD mentor support x 1 session per week 

- Overcoming Low Mood and Depression Group - Monthly

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the period:** 



1) The community have worked with us for over 4 years now, they have guided us, led us, shaped us and expect continuation of their Coach House & Kitchen Garden; 

2) Over 400 people use the Coach House & Kitchen Garden for activities supporting their well being per week; 

3) In November 2021, our chairperson was awarded the Green Flag Silver Anniversary Special Award for Volunteer of the Year; 

4) In June 2022, the charity, Friends of Rhyddings Park, was awarded the Queen’s Award for Volunteer Service; 

5) We have been able to maintain 2 part time paid staff, the reminder of the project at Rhyddings is managed and run by volunteers.

**Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves** : The charity had a policy of retaining reserves sufficient for its short to medium term requirements. These are reviewed regularly and decisions regarding fundraising needs as well as cost control are always taken regarding this policy. Care is taken to preserve restricted funds, and these are only used for the purpose for which they are received.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity ('Ihe Trust.) for the year ended

basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are ￿sponsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charrf(ies Act 2011
I'lhe Ad"}.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Acl and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145{5llb) of the Act.
