Chair of Trustees report for 202212023
During this period our Trustees and volunteers have worked tirelessly to further improve the building
and services that we offer to the community. As we emerged from the disruption caused by Covid 19,
we have established robust plans to look to the future of Read & 5imonstone Village Hall and how it
can best Serve the needs of the local and wider communitv.
With the support of both Read Parish Council and Simonstone Parish Council. along with Ribble
Valley Borough Council and other organisatt"ons. we have further strengthened our financial position.
In the meantr'me, we have increased the number of actTvitr"es that are organised by the Hall Trustees.
including 3 community cinema and social evenings. These. along with the regular weekly cafe,
continue to raise extra funds to meet oui operarional costs. Addiiionally. we h3ve seen increases in
the booking by regular user5 as well as one-off hires. Finally, we are always indebted to those
residents of Read and Simon5tone who so generously donate through monthly giving that gives us
the confidence that we are appreciated by so many in meering a need within our community.
