Mariyan Sainyam World Mission is a charity (CIO) registered under the Charities Act 2011 on 9 November 2017 [Registration Number 1175653].

The policy of the Charity is determined by the trustees who meet regularly. The trustees have been fully engaged in overseeing the operational needs of the charity. This is achieved through regular formal and informal meetings. The trustees are appointed by the board of trustees. There are informal procedures for induction and training of new trustees. Trustees are also encouraged to attend external briefings and training courses. The trustees continue to monitor and review major risks which the charity is exposed to and where necessary control and implement systems and procedures to manage those risks.

Objectives

In setting our objectives, and planning our activities, trustees have given careful consideration to Charity Commission's guidelines on public benefit. Main objectives of the Charity:

Activities

During the year, Charity has organised various prayer meetings, Night Vigil, Holy Mass and retreats in pursuance of its objectives of advancement of Catholic Religion. During the year, the charity has provided financial aid of £16,715 (2020: £19,506) to poor people in India and Africa in line with its objective of relief to poverty. Marian Vibes is also an initiative of Mariyan Sainyam World Mission, to make use of the modern media as a means of new evangelization. This ministry is totally at the service of the Church. It seeks to uphold justice without prejudice and defend fearlessly the Catholic position in the new media where the Church is under attack from different corners. About 50 voluntary workers are serving in this ministry world wide. Now were able to reach many visitors for the portal.

Financial review

The charity's principal funding source is from donations and related gift aid receipts of £23,761 (2020: £20,360).

Reserve policy

It is policy of the charity to maintain unrestricted funds at a level which equates to approximately three months unrestricted expenditure. This provides sufficient funds to cover management and administration and support costs.
