Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Appointed by existing Trustees

## **Section C: Objectives and activities**

## _**Objectives**_

The objects of the CIO are: to advance the education of young people who due to personal circumstances, have the possibility of being disengaged from mainstream education throughout hampshire by providing such assistance to the child, family or guardian to assist them with their education as the trustees deem appropriate.

## _**Main Activites**_

ELKOLET Benevolent Foundation (EBF) assist young people and their families with a range goods, services or financial support as and when a need is identified by EBF's sister charity, ELKOLET. Often, these needs are linked to underlying causes resulting in young people becoming disengaged, or the risk of becoming disengaged, with their academic journey.

EBF seeks to come alongside schools, churches and other agencies who are working with young people and their families where collaboration is needed to meet or improve the result of the intervention of a benevolent kind on behalf of the young person and their families.

We confirm the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

## **Section D: Achievements and performance**

Supporting ELKOLET's Alternative Education Provision, The King's Way (TKW):

- Providing free meals for learners attending TKW;

- Providing transport for learners (for those not otherwise able to attend and those who struggle to attend without the additional support of transportation and a morning "wakey-wakey");

- Providing new football boots, a host of winter jackets and electronic equipment to several young people in need; - Supported a family with fuel to cover benefit shortfalls to enable all the children to attend their respective schools and contributed in the acquisition of a replacement vehicle;

- Provided a range of other financial support including the purchasing of food items, clothing, carpets and birthday gifts.

## **Section E: Financial Review**

ELKOLET Benevolent Foundation has no running costs but aims to keep approximately three months worth of regular commitments in reserve. Providing meals to young people attending the alternative education provision would be an example of a regular commitment.
