The Band governance is described in the constitution and the Rules and Policies for the Folkestone Community Swing band.  The band committee membership and responsibilities are described in the above documents. Committee members are elected at the Band Annual General Meeting of members.

**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** 

The primary object of the Band shall be to serve its local community and its members as a Community Swing band, through the study of music and the promotion of musical entertainment, whilst supporting local and national charities

The band usually has weekly rehearsals attended by the band members and which are open to musicians of all standards who express an interest in joining the band. 

The Band also usually gives concerts at bandstands, community events and in community halls.  These events raise funds through donation and performance fees.  The Band contributes 50% of earnings and event donations to a chosen charity – currently the Alzheimer’s Society.

Owing to Covid restrictions, there were no Band concerts or finance generating activities or rehearsals during the reporting period.
