_(1) To promote and advance agriculture and horticulture for the benefit of the public in Torridge and surrounding areas by holding exhibitions and classes of breeding and other stock, agricultural implements and such other classes, displays and exhibitions connected with agriculture and the show as may be determined by the trustees._

The trustees held an agricultural show at Clovelly Court on 31[st] July. The weather was challenging, and resulted in a reduced gate. However, thanks to good work by trustees, trade stands and entries were up, which compensated for the low gate. Classes for horses, cattle sheep, fleeces, dogs and handicrafts were held, and information provided to the public during the judging of these. Specialist sheep and cattle marquees provided detailed information on various aspects of animal husbandry.
