_(1) To promote and advance agriculture and horticulture for the benefit of the public in Torridge and surrounding areas by holding exhibitions and classes of breeding and other stock, agricultural implements and such other classes, displays and exhibitions connected with agriculture and the show as may be determined by the trustees._ 

_(2) To make such grants and donations to such registered charities as the trustees shall from time to time determine._ 

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

The trustees held an agricultural show at Clovelly Court on 25[th] July. This was our first show since covid, and we were unsure how it would go. Thanks to good weather approx. 2500 members of the public attended, similar to 2019, but all entries and trade stands were down. Classes for horses, cattle sheep, fleeces, dogs and handicrafts were held, and information provided to the public during the judging of these. 

Specialist sheep and cattle marquees provided detailed information on various aspects of animal husbandry. 

A food and farming marquee allowed local producers to promote their foods, and sell direct to the public. 

Local crafts people had a specialist marquee in which to show off their talents, and sell their wares.

Modern and vintage machinery was displayed, with appropriate information provided. The show also provided a convivial atmosphere for people to spend time and talk. 

The show was able to make a donation of £2000 to Parkinsons UK

Our volunteers who help on the show day, and to set up etc, are invaluable and we appreciate the time they give. Without them, we would not be able to donate any money to other charities.
