ADOPT A BULL TERRIER RESCUE REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOA THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 STRUThURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Adopt a Bull Terrier Rescue IAaBTRI registered charity no 1175565, operates in England and Wales to assist in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Bull Terriers, Bulldogs. French Bulldogs, Pugs and cross breeds for example Frugs in need or at risk. Charity status wa5 granted in November 2017 with 3 Trustees appointed to support this work. As two of the trustees are related to each other it was decided to appoint a person outside of the rescue to offer an unbiased view. Mark W Tonge Nicole Tonge Georgina L Slater AIM£ & OBJFCTIVES For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of dogs in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such dogs. We are one of the few rescues which help to care for disabled bull terriers which suffer from a condition known as LAD (Lethal Acrodermatitisl. these special little bull terriers are lovingly known as Zlncies. They suffer from dwarfism, skin issues and shortened palates. With the correct medical attention these little dogs can live up to 6 years. AèBTR continue to be actively involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of French Bulldogs and associated crosses as well as Bull Terriers. Aa8TR are committed to making an impact on the rescue of dogs in difficult Situations, abandoned, in dog pounds and those on death row and strive to ensure safe & loving homes are found for all those dogs that come into our care. AaBTR is run purely on a voluntary basis. All dogs are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and microchips updated. Aa8TR have partnered with Agria Pet Insurance and going forward all dogs will have 5 weeks free pet insurance to give adopters piece of mind. AaBTR provide back up to all do8s adopted from this rescue. As such, we help our adoptees if their insurance does not cover the full vet bill. we will also offer support on a case by case basis. FINANCIAL REPORT Income for the period totalled £7,968 with expenditure of £8.275 resulting in a deficit for the period of £307. Combined with the operFin8 cash funds balance of £106,606 gives a closing cash funds balance of £106,299. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under sertion144121 of the Charities Act 2011 Ithe 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. AoopT A BULL TERRIER RESCUE REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 REVIEW OF THE Pb.RIOD We have sCUed1reh0Med 12 Bull Terrlers/French Bulldogs from April 2023 to 31 March 2024. REGISTERED CHARITY NUMBER 1175565 Each dog taken under our care undergoes an assessment prior to joining our rescue. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our fosterers and adopter5, we are unable to accept any dog5 With a known history of biting or aggressive behaviour. Once in oijr care, 211 dogs receive a comprehensive health check, are vaccinated, and are neutered/spayed if suitable, with consideration given to factors such as age and/or existing medical conditions). Our supporters play a vital role in the success of our rescue operations. Their contributions include fostering and adopting, conducting home checks, assessing new arrivals, and helping with the transportation of dogs to their new homes. Beyond rehoming, we also undertake follow-up reviews and provide continuous support and advice, ensuring a smooth transition tor all parties involved. As of the statement of financial position date, our charity remains in a strong position. We continue to rely on fundraising efforts, donations and adoptions fees to SUStain operations. The sUPPOrt from adopters and donors has been instrLtmental in enabling us to provide the necessary care for our rescue do85. Veterinary expenses represent our largest and most e$5ential outlay. To manage these costs, we have established partnerships with several veterinary practices allowing us to secure discounts on routine procedures such as spayinglneutering, as well as more complex surgeries requiring hospitalisation. These collaborations enable the Sce to maintain high standards ot care while optimising our financial resources. Our commitment to the dogs in our care extend5 well beyond the adoption process. We provide lifetime support to adopters, particularly for dogs with pre-existing medical conditions. Thls ensures every dog rehomed through our charity continues to receive the attention, treatment and advice needed to enjoy a healthy. happy and full life. The period under review has been marked by achievements and ongoing dedication. We remain steadfast in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome BLtII Terriers and French Bulldogs, and to support our adopters and their adopted dogs for life.
