Adopt a Bull Terrier Rescue {Aa8TRI registered charity no 1175565, operates in England and Wales to assist
in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Bull Terriers, Bulldogs. French Bulldogs, Pugs anfl cross breeds
for example Frugs, in need or at risk. Charity status was 8ranted in November 2017 with 3 Trustees
appointed to support this work. As two of the trnstees are related to each other it was decided to appoint a
person oytS4de of the rescue to offer an unbiased view.

AIMS & OBJEcfivES
For the beneflt of the public to relieve the suffering of dog5 in need of care ar¢d attention and, in particular.
to provide and maintain rescue homes or other frdcilitres for the reception. care and treatment of such dogs.
We are one of the few rescues which help to care for disabled bull terriers whith suffèr from a condrtion
known as iAD ILethal Acrodermatitisl, these special little bull terriers are lovingly known as Zincies. They
suffer from dwarfism. skin Issue5 and shortened palates. With the corrett medical attention these little dogs
can live up to 6 years.
Aa8TR contlnue to be actively Involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of French 8ulldogs and associated
crosses a5 well as Bull Terriers.
AaBTR are committed to making an impact on the rescue of dogs in difficult situations, abandoned, ¥n d08
pounds and those on death row and strive to ensure safe & loving homes are folsnd for all those dogs that
come into our care. Aa8TR is run purely on a voluntary basis. All dogs are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and
microchips updated.
AaBTR have partnered with Agria Pet Insurance and going forward all dog5 will have 5 weeks free pet
insurance to give adopters piece of mind.
COVID 19
The COVID pandemic that commenced March 2020 and continued for several months impacted thè revenue
and operating capabilities Into 2021, this wès not a situation that could be foreseen or planned for. We
struggled to corsdurt many rescue activities for example home checks and dog assessments etc. Funds were
affected due to varylng factors, socialisation walks. rehoming of dogs and general outslde activities.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Income for the perlod totalled £27,220 wlth expenditure of £15,280 resulting in a surplus for the period of
£11,939.
Combined with the opening cash funds balance of £64.376 gives a closing cash funds balance o* £76,316.
The tnjstees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section14412} of the Charities Act
2011 (the 2011 Artl and that an irbdependent examination is needed. The Charlty's gros5 income does not
exceed £250.000.(KS

REVIEW OF THE PERIOD

We are now in our fourth year as a re8lStered charity and our reputation is growing as our financial ￿port
Shows.
We have rescuedlrehomed 23 Bull TerrierslFrench 8ulldogs from April 2020 to 31 March 2021. For the
period 2021 to 2022 this increased to 44. Although there was an increase in the number of res¢ued dogs to
the previous year, this was still less than other years due to the COVID pandemic and economic issues. We
were still able to operate under Animal Welfare rules however our intake was low compared to previous
years. We were able to work with another registered charity to help rescue and rehome several Bull Terriers.
All dogs are assessed priorto being taken under our wing* unfortunately we cannot take any dog5 known to
have bitten or shown aggression as we cannot and will not put our fosterers or adopters at risk. All dogs
which come into our rescue are health checked, vaccinated, neutered and/or spayed las long as they are old
enough).
Our members help by fostering and adopting. doing home checks, assessing dogs and helping with the
transport of dogs to their new homes. As a rescue, we also conduct follow up ￿vIewS and provide ongoing
SilPPOrt and advice to all our restue do8s and their adopters.
The financial position is strong at the ststement of financial p051tion date. The charity continues to rely on
fundraising and donations to SUPPOrt its work. Again due to the COVID pandemic our fundraising was
affected, we were unable to run the usual number of Bull Terrier/Frenchie walks. however, we were able to
still run auctions and the annual calendar. Our members have continued to be very supportive with their
donations.
Vet bills remain our biggest and m05t necessary cost however, we have formed partnerships with several
veterinary practice5 to endeavour to keep costs to a minimum,. obtaining discounts on day to day surgerie5
such as spaying and neutering and also more complex surgeries where in-house hospitalisatlon Is nÈces5ary.
