The Objects of the CIO are:- "the advancement of the Orthodox Christian faith and life, according to the teaching and practice of the Orthodox Christian Church as maintained by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East of which it is part, and, additionally, the CIO will advance education and carry out any other such charitable purposes in the United Kingdom and/or other parts of the world as may be for the benefit of its members and/or the public generally. "

- Public benefit has been delivered in this period by the following: 1. Facilitating due care and diligence in the parishes of the Archdiocese in relation to pastoral care, safeguarding and financial probity among its members and officers. 

2. Theological and practical formation through its online course (E-Quip: http://www.equip-orthodox.com of parish members and clergy in training them to serve their local communities. 

3. Supporting social care in each of the parishes without distinction or discrimination.

The Charity has fulfilled its objectives in supporting both the Archbishop, archdiocesan workers and the parishes of the Archdiocese: spiritually, in education, providing public benefit and in good works beneficial to local communities. It has also succeeded in meeting the budgetary requirements to fulfil these goals and activities.

The Charity maintains two reserves.  The operational reserve is maintained only to facilitate its day to day operations. The Charity also maintains a legacy reserve, which it received from the Antiochian Orthodox Deanery of the United Kingdom (reg. no. 1057533), now ceased, and which is used to make grants and loans to qualifying applicants.  The Board of Trustees will consider, at its next meeting, how best to reinvest the legacy funds currently held in the bank savings account, in accordance with Independent Financial Advice.

The Charity receives all its fundraising from the parishes, communities and members that belong to the Orthodox Church here in the British Isles and Ireland, (the UK & Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic and the Crown Dependencies in these Isles).

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including Additionally, in this financial year only, the Charity received funds from its 

- any fundraising); predecessor charity, the Antiochian Orthodox Deanery of the United 

- how expenditure has Kingdom (reg. no. 1057533), now ceased.  These funds, totalling supported the key objectives £391,061, constitute a legacy which was received by the predecessor of the charity; charity, to be used for grants and loans to qualifying applicants.  The Charity continues the predecessor charity’s grant- and loan-making 

- investment policy and function, and an Endowments Committee has been formed, consisting 

- objectives including any both of trustees of the Charity and former trustees of the predecessor 

- ethical investment policy charity, to ensure that all such grants and loans are made in conformity 

- adopted. with the Objects of the Charity.
