Club Trustee Report

AGM – 15[th] July 2025

Flints Community Hub, our new home ground was opened in the summer of 2024, and the pitches were used for the 2024/25 season. Planning permission was finally given on the Clubhouse in May 2025 and work is moving quickly to get the building ready for the new season. Costs have escalated since Covid and with the Football Foundation refusing to increase their funding in line with those costs the Club had no option but to take out loans. These loans have come from Trustees. The improvement of facilities available to the Club remains the priority but we need a period to rebuild finances and pay off those loans.

We are part of the FA Club Support scheme and Active Essex Organisation Development Support programme which are useful resources towards Club sustainability. One area that needs developing is engagement with our community. The partnership with Shenfield High School is a step in the right direction but more work is needed.

How the Club operates continues to develop. We are looking to bring all our accounting function under a local accountancy firm and to move on to an accounting package. This not only improves Governance but also helps support the workforce. Succession planning is key to any organisation and the Club must look to the next generation to take Hutton FC forward.

Within the football sections the Club continues to run ahead of our facility bank and available resources. The men’s first team has now completed two seasons at Step 6 in the National League System competing in the play-offs for promotion to Step 5 on both occasions. The Women’s first team have been promoted to the Premier Division of the Eastern Region. There are now several Youth teams in the Junior Premier League and the Eastern Junior Alliance.

In other news the Club has finally signed off the partnership with West Ham United Academy which will give access to talent identification, games with Academy or Elite Development teams, staff development and a higher profile for Hutton FC.
