The trustees have the pleasure of presenting their annual report alongside the financial accounts for the year 2024/2025.

## **School Context** 

Handsworth Primary is a multicultural, two-form entry school, situated in Highams Park within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The school currently Reception - Year Six. Classes are organised into mixed-ability groups, maintaining an equal gender and cultural balance. 

## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

The Trustees, who shall number no fewer than four, are all elected volunteer members. The executive officers of the charity are defined as the Chair and the Treasurer. 

The charity and its property are managed and administered by a committee comprising these officers alongside other volunteer members elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Additional vital volunteer roles include a dedicated team of parent volunteers and seven class representatives (one per year group). 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The core aims and objectives outlined by Friends of Handsworth are to: 

- Raise funds to support projects that directly benefit the children of Handsworth Primary School. 

- Develop and foster effective relationships between school management, staff, and parents/carers. 

- Engage in activities and enhance school facilities with the aim of supporting the school community and advancing the education and learning of the pupils. 

To achieve this, FOH plans and manages a diverse calendar of events, including in-school activities for pupils and weekend events for families. 



## **Achievements, Performance and Fundraising** 

During the 2024/2025 academic year, FOH successfully delivered the following fundraising initiatives: 

- Christmas Cards Scheme 

- Quiz Night 

- School Discos 

- Spring Raffle 

- Christmas Fayre 

- Reuse & Repair Fayre Café 

- Summer Fete 

- Community Yard Sale 

- Ice Cream Sales 

In addition to these events, supplementary funding was successfully secured through corporate Match Funding schemes via parent employers, the Easyfundraising platform, and direct parent donations. 

## **Financial Review** 




Following a formal vote and approval by the Trustees, a total of **£26,228.00** was disbursed directly to Handsworth Primary School to fund key projects, resources, and facilities upgrading for the pupils.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31.12.2025. 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of  the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
