This was a major<br>undertaking involving extensive training,<br>many hours of volunteering, and the<br>purchase of some equipment for the longer<br>term. The four teams successfully completed<br>their challenge in May 2025.|

The activities we<br>do undertake are made possible because of<br>the time given by volunteers, by adults and<br>minors.  As in the previous period, the Ten<br>Tors training was led by qualified walking<br>leaders, supported by adults and young<br>people willing to support by way of<br>transporting, check-pointing and training.<br>Any of the Charity’s individual activities are<br>organised by volunteer members of the<br>committee. All adult volunteers are DBS<br>checked.|

We purchased equipment including<br>stoves and tents for the Ten Tors training<br>that we continue to provide, but our<br>purchases in the last period (2023/24) mean<br>that we are well provided for base camp<br>equipment.<br>There was an excess of expenditure over<br>income for the Activities, partly explained by<br>the fact that we paid a deposit in February<br>2025 for an activity that was due to take<br>place in January 2026, in the next financial<br>period. We also had some difficulties in filling<br>places over the year, especially where we<br>didn’t get up to the minimum suggested in a<br>group. We chose to go with the activity<br>rather than cancel.<br>We updated a leader’s first aid qualification,<br>and renewed DBS checks for our volunteers.<br>The bank balance was in a healthy position<br>at the end of the financial period with<br>sufficient funds available to support our core<br>activities and to provide funds for some<br>equipment in the future.|

The links with the<br>local secondary school are not as strong as<br>they have been previously, so the Charity is<br>considering and implementing other ways to<br>attract members from a wider area. We have<br>surveyed members to ask which activities<br>they wish to do.|
