Whllst we have managed to realise a surplu5 on our general fund5 for the lèst two years, both our Income ond our

Stoff and Contmct costs
Due to on8oin8 difficU￿leS In recruiting a youth group leader, our youth group contlnues to be run by volunteers. We
therefore had no employment costs during the year (see note 9 to the accounts).
The services of a 8ardenerto maintain the churchyard and a parish admlnlstrator Ithrou8h our Legacies Fund) are also
paid for although we tsener￿ed from our volunteer music director donating hls servites for free during the year.
Other c￿ts
We strive to keep our basic general costs Ilncludln8 church and churchyard runnln8 Costs and admlni5tratlon costs) at
steady level a￿hoUgh costs are under pressure. Church running costs were Sower in 2024 than in 2023 due to some
one-off maintenance costs In 2023. However, churchyard costs have increased on the appolntment of a new
contrartor followlng the retlrement of Nell Llndsay-stewart. to whom we are most grateful for many years of service.
Trustee payments ond expense$
Payments to trustees and persons Connected to trustees are set out In notes 10 and 11 to the accounts.
Volunteers
We are In the fortunate posltlon of havlng a large number of volunteers, who freely give up thelrtime to enable us to
do all that we do. The value of thls tlme Is immeasurable and we are deeply grateful to them all.
Why we hold some money in reserve
It Is PCC poll¢y to seek to malntaln a balance on the general unrestrlcted funds whlch equates to a mlnlmum of
approxlmately three months, worth ot unrestrirted payments as contingency agalnst unforeseen sttuatlons, together
wlth a further £50,000 for fabrlc repalr emer8en¢lÈs, 8bven that we are a Grade I Ilsted bulldlng.
The closing balances on our general and deslgnated funds at the year end Ilncludln8 investments at cost but less
amounts owlng at the year endl are some £10,000 In excess of the amount set out In our reserve5 pollcy above.
However, some of these funds have been earmarked for other, 5peclflc purposes. Taklng these Into account, our
reserves at the year end are In Ilne with our reseryes pollcy. Havin8 reviewed the overall posltlon, the PCC considers
that the funds held at the year end are sufflclent to meet Its needs.
As well as holdln8 the reserves referred to above, the PCC from time to tlme recelves restrlcted donatlons for
expendlture on particular purposes, defined by the donor. We alm to expend such money as soon as posslble after
recelvln8 the donation, Detslls of our restrlcted funds are gfven In note 15 to the accounts.
Management of rlsks and thelr mltlgatlon
The PCC re8ularly revlews the major rlsks whlch mlght Impact on the work of the ¢hur¢h and malntalns a rlsk reglster
summarlsln8 all potentlal risks. The PCC considers that the prlnclpal rlsks and uncertalntles a￿.
The need to fund unexpected costs assoelated wlth the church's Ilsted bulldlng.
The requirement to find volunteers with the appropriate skills, tlme and commitment to support the ministry of
the con8reBatlon.
Insufflclent income, particularly as we lose some of our older* generou5 donors.
Lack of sufficient space in the churchyard. We are liaising With the Parish Councll In relatlon to thls.
The health and safety wlthln the church bullding.
These issues are re8ularly reviewed by the PCC and actlons taken to mitigate risks where posslble.
