Long Sutton Mens, Shed Chairmans Report 2024-2025 The 'shed' continues to thrive. maintsining the number of members around the 110 mark. We have lost some members through ill health. moving house etc. but have to accept that some members choose to leave for various reasons unknown. We always attempt to find out why. if any member has not attended tor a while. and our Welfare Officer will try to make contact. estsblish the reason for absence and offer any assistsnce we can. New members are always met Initlallyi introduced to everyonei given a tour of the premises with an explanation of how things work. If interested we offer membership for an annual fee of £10.00 with an attendance fee of £l.lJ) We still have a number of members with both physical and learning difficulties and manage to accomodate these with varlous activities and by socialising with other members. These members are often referred to the 'shed' through social services or specialist care companies and usualty attend accompanied with a carer. This year we have extended our premises to create a new wood turning workshop which has proved very popular. This has meant an increase in our rent of £6.00 per annum. Other new projects indude the purchase of a cnc wood router and a 3d printer thereby increasing the activities we offer. A major project has been the construction of a large model railway which has encompassed a number of skills
We continue to maintain a heatthy bank balance (see attached account) and are grateful to a number of grant providers.
