The opening concert was performed by Orpington community musicians Lata Madduri and Sandhya Bhat who have been learning Carnatic music for many years and had an opportunity to share their music to an audience. The concert was a full house, and we supported some of UK’s talented young artists Aparna Raghuraman on the violin and Rishikesh Ramesh on the Mridangam.

In September 2024 Brhaddhvani supported and collaborated with Dandanakka Kalai Kuzhu, a group dedicated in promoting the traditional art forms of Parai, Tudumbu, Uruttu, Silambam and Oyilattam originating from the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Parai drumming master Sathyanarayanan Velmurugan (Sakthi) visited the UK to conduct a 3-week intensive workshop on Parai, Tudumbu and Uruttu drumming for the benefit of all the learners in Dandanakka. People of all ages and backgrounds participated with an interest to learn these percussion instruments and break the social stigma attached to these traditional art forms in India. The workshop concluded with a performance.

Brhaddhvani partnered with Beeja Dance in Croydon to support their annual dance festival in Croydon in October 2024.

The founder-director of the charity Mr. Divyanand Caird has been curating the events and discussing with artists ways to make the arts accessible to a wider audience.
