## **Achievements and performance**

Subramanian, creator and<br>mentor of Brhaddhvani UK visited the UK<br>between October 2022 to January 2023 from<br>India to conduct workshops and master<br>classes for the students registered at<br>Brhaddhvani UK charity.<br>On 29th October 2022 and 7thJanuary 2023,<br>Divyanand Caird, founder of Brhaddhvani<br>UK arranged a concert and workshop on<br>Vina & Voice by Dr.Subramanian for the<br>students and the wider community in<br>Orpington and around South East London.<br>The workshops were held both online and in<br>person to make it accessible for as many<br>students across the UK.<br>On 14thOctober 2023 Brhaddhvani UK<br>publicly launched its community initiative<br>BRHAD-KALA to promote upcoming talent<br>and professional musicians to perform and<br>share their knowledge for the benefit of the<br>wider public. The format of the event was a<br>double bill concert by upcoming artists<br>Aparna Raghuraman on the violin and Rishi<br>Ramesh on Mridangam followed by<br>established professional artists from the UK,<br>Mr. Vamshikrishna Vishnudas on Vocal,<br>Balu Raghuraman on Violin and Prathap<br>Ramachandra on Mridangam. The event<br>was success where an audience of nearly<br>150 attended and many of them had not<br>been exposed to classical music before. It<br>was an engaging experience while feedback<br>was positive wanting more such initiatives in<br>the future.<br>The founder-director of the charity Mr.<br>Divyanand Caird has been teaching and<br>advocating for South Asian music to be part<br>of the curriculum at schools in the UK. Since<br>the 2022 Divyanand has been teaching<br>Carnatic music at Nelson Primary School in<br>Newham borough through Newham Music in<br>partnership with PRSSV Institute of<br>Performing Arts and Heritage. This initiative<br>has enabled the objective of bringing global<br>music and diversity in music education in the<br>UK. The charity was instrumental in<br>procuring string instruments (Vinas and<br>Tamburas) and percussion instruments<br>(Kanjiras) at a subsidised price for Nelson<br>Primary School in Newham Borough. The<br>work at schools in ongoing and expanding<br>further.|
