TRUSTEE’S REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2022
The Trustees are pleased to present their report together with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2022.
The charity was created as a CIO by registering with the Charity Commission dated 27 October 2017 and it is a registered charity No. 1175420.
Its address is 67 Darwin Drive, Cambridge CB4 3HQ. The members of the Board of Trustees during the year ended 31 March 2022 were:

The chairman is elected annually by the trustees. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall management of the Trust.
The day-to-day activities of the Trust are operated by the Chairman and the treasurer.
Objectives
The charity was established with the following aims and objectives:

(1) To advance the education (including social and physical training) of people in such ways as the charity trustees think fit.

(2) The relief of financial need and suffering among victims of natural or other kinds of disaster in the form of money (or other means deemed suitable) for persons, bodies, organisations and/or countries affected including the provision of medical aid and small infrastructure projects.

(3) The relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people worldwide by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment, facilities and services not normally provided by the statutory authorities.

(4) The promotion of religious harmony for the benefit of the public as the trustees see fit.
When planning our activities, the trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, and in particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of education, relief of financial needs and sickness in line with the charity’s aims and objectives.
The Trust has provided financial help to poor students, individuals with serious medical issues, and financial help for home repairs.
Activities and achievements
The activities of the Trust were directed toward collection of funds and their distribution in accordance with the objectives of the charity.
Source of Income
The funds of Cambridge Educational Trust are generated through voluntary donations.

Statement of Trustees’ responsibilities
The Trustee is responsible for preparing the Trustee's report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
Charity law requires the Trustee to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements the Trustee is required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

observe the methods and principles of the Charities SORP;
-
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustee is responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable him to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. He is also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
