The charity’s principal activity is to provide education to less privileged children, mostly orphans, in Kitabisi, Kenya. The charity has funded the building of a school and has supported its day to day operations. The school provides education to 223 children, aged 6 to 13, of whom approximately 140 are orphans. During the year ended 31.03.21, the charity continued to make monthly donations to fund the salaries of the headmaster, the teachers and the on-site nurse. In addition, during the period, the church, which was responsible for the founding of the school and for its continued operation, collapsed. The trustees provided funds for the rebuilding of the church. They also provided funds for a medical consultation for the church pastor and his wife, together with a replacement motorbike for the pastor so that he could visit members of the church, including school children, in outlying villages. |

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LIFE REFORM AFRICA
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Life Reform Africa (the Charity) for the year ended 31 March 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
