|||In February a guest speaker Wojciech Filibar visited the school to talk|
|||about Wojtek of Monte Cassino. After the session, pupils were able to|
|||buy books written
by the author. The school organised a competition
to|
|||encourage the children to learn more about the life ofthis famous bear|
|||and the history of Monte Cassino.|
|||At the end ofthe spring term in the lead up to Easter, the Stations ofthe|
|||Cross were re-enacted
by Year 5 pupils|
|||In May the school was invited to take part in the 70~ anniversary|
|||celebrations
ofthe Polish Educational
Society in POSK - year one pupils|
|||performed
the Krakowiak dance in full traditional
costume.|
|||At the end of May a special event was organised
to honour the|
|||Headteacher's
50years ofwork at the school. Invitees included
Polish|
|||Consuls, representatives
from the Polish Educational
Society, Polish|
|||Catholic Mission, past and current teachers. Awards were also presented|
|||to a small group ofteachers/volunteers
who had been with the school for|
|||over 10years.|
|||A trip was organised
for the pupils to Laxton Hall to celebrate Children' s|
|||day. This is an annual
event organised
by The Polish Catholic Mission|
|||and The Polish Educational
Society.|
|||29 pupils
from our school sat the Polish GCSE exam and 2 sat the AL|
|||exam.|
|||All pupils attained
high pass grades, the majority
attaining
a grade 8 or 9|
