REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the period ended 31[st] March 2023

The trustees present their report and accounts for the year to 31st March 2023. The trustees have opted, under section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Charities Act’), to prepare receipts and payments accounts

Objectives and Aims Our charitable objects are:

We do this by

Providing free holidays for those on low incomes and have not had a holiday for 4 years

Public benefit

The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit and consider that the activities of the charity meet its charitable objectives and provide a benefit to the public.

Achievement and Performance Charitable activities

Throughout 2022 to 2023 Rockministry continued to reach out to the community in the Rockminstry Hub Café and on the streets. On these occasions we take opportunities to pray with people who are sick and share our Christian faith, giving practical guidance and emotional and spiritual support.

In some ways our charitable activities have extended to having private use of a 120-acre farm. There we have been able to facilitate families suffering from bereavement. Delivering health and well-being activities for many families and children through different events such as Dads and sons free camping weekend, provided counselling and mentoring using our equipment and resources.

Rockministry have a variety of outreach events – A Christmas event, men’s breakfasts and ladies’ events which are open to everyone providing free meals on a donations basis for those who are able to financially support in giving.

The Rockministry continue to actively promote and network with many other Charities including Care for the family, Acts 435, Northern Devon Food bank, Family Holiday Association.

Rockministry hub café work together as a community of volunteers providing hundreds of free meals and drinks, free new white goods and household items to families and individuals.

Through Care for the family, we continue to offer different family training programs that are acknowledged by social services and a variety of professionals. We have had a few situations where we were supporting women to come out of

domestic violence Circumstances and help them to now live successfully. We have walked with them through the journey providing mentoring and support. We continue to support people to deal with anger management, teenage support and bereavement support.

The Rockministry hub café is incorporating a youth drop-in centre that is all free. We provide a free meal (pizzas) when the young people come.

We continue to sustain and work with fresh strategies that support people to find wisdom and direction developing their skills, gifting and abilities as they serve throughout our local community projects and church activities.

Rockministry continue to provide employment through work within the ministry.

We have maintained a methodist building and the café hub building that we lease. The Rockministry has access to 120acre farm and farmhouse and another local field and play area where we have social events and meals together.

The Rockministry pastors and leaders continue to have their own pastoral development and training from the International Network of Churches visiting their headquarters in Brighton and receiving advice and support as leaders of a local church community. We are an independently governed charity who continue to work well in leading and supporting the Rockminstry team and volunteers.

Rockministry continue to provide training and support to those that attend the Rock Church running a short training program that develops the specific areas for coming onto the team of the Rockministry.

Volunteers

The volunteers have support to build confidence through training. The continuation is to empower and to build teams of people with hope and purpose to achieve the vision for Rockministry.

Every individual is important and unique which is where through the Growth track project Rockministry empowers everyone to build on and be empowered in their strengths and to learn about themselves developing their giftings and grow in their understanding, belief in God, developing Godly ways to live to their full potential in Him.

We continue to have prayer meetings throughout the week as well as seeing a real consistency in the growth of the church with a regular attendance of families & children. We are seeing the Lord do some very special and powerful things amongst us as a family church. We continue to be a growing church who works to network with other churches in the local area with joint gatherings such as the Big Sheep event. We support, coach and mentor people in all their walk in their life working with them to help them gain employment, be confident in their relationships and marriage, and support them in their parenting role.

Financial review

The charity is dependent on donations £42,133 (2022: £27,468).

Total income for the period was £46,298 (2022: £62,171) and expenditure £45,980 (2022: £59,019) leaving a surplus of £308 (2022: £3,152)

We have a Rockministry hub café facility and have Sunday services where it is well attended with families and children. We have maintained and paid all our outgoings and have invested in our equipment and resources to be able to have socials and meals together and have an equipped resource for the community to use.

We have a Rockministry Hub Café facility where we have provided hundreds of meals and drinks to the community. We have been leasing a Methodist Chapel in the community where we have held our Sunday Worship and Word services and other events. We have invested in our maintenance programmes and upgraded our leased buildings. We have continued to upgrade and invest in our resources and equipment.

Reserves policy

We have a policy not to borrow finance so where possible we stick to a very tight budget; we do not hold reserves currently as we do not have the finance coming in to do this. We plan to hold a reserve fund of three months for day to day bills coming in.

Unrestricted cash reserves at the year-end were £9,335

Structure, Governance and Management Governing document

Rockministries is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered on 25[th] October 2017.

The charity associated with the International Network of Churches (INC) but is governed independently. New members are elected by the existing trustees to the board after nomination and interview.

Financial reports are presented to the board at each meeting. Minutes of each meeting are taken and subsequently distributed.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Rockministries

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Rockministry (the Trust) for the year to 31[st] March 2023.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

  3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I confirm that there are no other matters to which your attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. Accounting Policies

Basis of preparing the financial statements and assessment of going concern

These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis as permitted by law for smaller charities.

The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.

2. Trustee remuneration and benefits

None of the trustees have been paid any remuneration or received any benefits from an employment with the charity or a related entity.
