Uganda
Summary oflhe main
achi8vemenls of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made lo
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whol8.
During the year, Our Father's Heart has
continued to support young people in
Uganda from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Para 1.20
This year the Uganda projecl has
continued to have had financial challenges,
with some sponsors slopping their
contributions and the increased cost of
living and education fees in Uganda
making it hard for people's contributs'ons to
cover the children's ￿$ts.
So in order lo b8come more efficient and
focus our limited fvnds on helping the
child￿n, a decision was made lo close the
office with our manager, Robinah, now
running the office from her home.
We have also continued to gel the families
of the children to help contribute towards
their education, bul this has proven difficuit
coming from such poor communilieg.
Robinah has continued lo support and
provide for all the children on the project
during the year with the help of Samuel
Ogwang. Samuel graduated and worked
for us full tim8 until September 2025, being
involved in all aspects of our Wofk.
We also have a local board of 5 trustees
who help support the charity on the ground
and provide advice on local matters.
We have around 20 ¢hildren now in full
lime education and accommodation with
many ofthem graduating at the end of
2025.
Most of the children we support are now
boardin
at school as it is ve
difficult at

home given their backgrounds. This gives
them the maximum support they need to
secure a positive future.
A few of our children completed their
studies in December 2024, and wtth stsrt-
up gifts for equipment we have managed to
gel them working and blossoming in
society. This is a￿vaYs a wonderful time lo
see how they have grown up in the project
and are now managing to fvnction in
society.
We also arè continuing helping towards
many heallh-related situations, with malaria
affeding almost all our children and $laff
foi prolonged periods.
A few of our street children have been
released from prison with no charges. This
was wonderful news forthem a$ they have
been stuck waiting for judges since 2021.
We arranged lo have care packages for
them to help them reintegrate into society
and work.
We ar& also continuing supporting Focal
desperate famili8s Ihal are in need,
providing food and equipment as needed.
The project ¢ontinue$ to Wofk on a small
scale and d8pend$ on UK sponsors to
support and see the children through their
education.
UK
The UK project (Chocolate & Co) Provides
employment opportunities for marginalised
people in a café in York which has
continued to grow its reputation over the
year, winning the York Press Best Coffee
Shop in December 2024. They also won
BBC Radio York's Make a Difference
Communty Award and in August 2025,
some of our team were delighlod to attènd
an awards ￿reMOnY to celebrate winning
this award.
During the yearthe Chocolate & Co has
successfulty transitioned 6 of our
beneficiaries into employment elsewhere in
York.
We made the decision not to renew our
Wellbeing & outreach co-ordinalorf, role
during the year which reduced the outreach
we do in the lo¢al communty but allowed
us to focu9 on Ihe core errtployment
ect. We do continue lo take hot

chocolates into the local homeless hostel
on a fortnightly basis to build relationships.
We ￿ceIve funding for free counselling for
our ber¢eficiaries, and this continues lo be a
powerful tool to help support them. We are
delighted to be able to report that having
secured fvnding for a third year, more will
be able lo access Ihis service.
Our Pay-It-Foward inrtiative system
continues to grow with more attende8S
every week and we have been generousty
supported by our local food bank as well as
our wonderful café customers in this
provision.
The café income does not cover all costs
for the charity, and we continue to seek
other sources of funding frorn grants and
other sources available to us.
This reporting period has seen the UK
project complete its transition lo full
ch8ritab18 ststus. with the lease being
transferred into the new"Chocolate & Co.
¢harity in May 2025. Therefore, all
operab'onal aCtivit￿S of the UK project will
be within the new charity in the next
financial year.
We are incredibly gratefiJl to all OUT funders
and volunteers who have supported the
progress of our UK proiect, and we look
forward to continuing the work we are
doing.

Financial Review
Review of the charity's
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21
Net outgoing resources for the year
amounted to £36.98812023r24'. incoming of
£30,388), and this total has been reduced
the total funds carried forward in the
Statement of assets and liabilities.
The Ugandan project resources reduced by
£5,360 in the year. This was because ofthe
financial challenges with reduced
contributions and increasing wsts in
Uganda.
The UK projéct designated funds reduced
by £11,831 in the year and th8 UK project
restricted funds reduced by £19,808 in the
year.
This was because a lol of the unrestricted
and restricted voluntary income raised for
the UK project was donated to the new
Chocolate & Co charity after it had been set
up on 1st August 2024. This was in
anticipation of the trading activities being
transferred from the Our Fatherfs Heart UK
project in May 2025.
Looking at both charthes together the UK
project designat￿ funds increased by
£10,412 and the restricted funds increased
by £4,362.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reseNes
staling why they are held
Para 1.22
The total reserves held by the charity are
£100,301. These consist of a combination
of general reserves £66,445 {held as
unrestricted and designated fvndsl and
restricted funds £33,856.
The gener81 reserves are held to enable
the charity to carry out its day-to-day
functions. The charity'5 reserve policy is to
hold be￿een 4 months of associated cngts
for both the Uganda and UK sides of the
charity. to allow for any periods of reduced
income to facilitate and maintain the
charitable purposes for the beneficiaries.
The general reserves within the charity are
below where we WOL¢ld expect them to be
al the year-end which would be £95,071
(total costs are £285,215).
This 1$ because there are £22,242 of
general reserves in the new Chocolats &
Co in preparation anticipatton of the trading
activities being transferred from the Our
Father's Heart UK project on 18t May 2025.

The restricted reserves of £33,856 are held
for the purpose of specified purposes for
the UK side of the charty. The trustees
have agreed that these will be transferred
to the new Ch¢xolale & Co charity when
the trading activiti8$ are transferred during
2024125.
