The football<br>projects we have delivered to schools<br>in Zimbabwe and Thailand have<br>allowed a number of school children<br>(aged 8-13) to take part in structured<br>& coached sports sessions that they<br>may previously have not had access to<br>in their lives.<br>We have been able to do this by<br>developing partnerships with schools<br>and community organisations in those<br>countries to deliver coaching clinics<br>that engage their young people<br>regardless of ability level across<br>diferent age groups. Although we<br>deliver these sports sessions over a<br>short time scale we feel our projects<br>help to address some of the gaps in<br>physical education for children in<br>developing countries particularlythose|





|||whose lives are afected by poverty.<br>Our coaching clinics also help with<br>their learning of fundamental<br>movement skills which may not have<br>been taught to them by their schools<br>PE staf. Many of the schools and<br>communities we work in do not have<br>access to the resources that will allow<br>the young people they serve to learn<br>the A,B,C’s of movement correctly or to<br>develop any sporting potential they<br>might have.<br>The young people, their families and<br>their schools show great enthusiasm<br>for the opportunity of being involved in<br>football and other sports training with<br>qualifed coaches.<br>Along with our local projects in London<br>which include provision in other sports<br>as well as wellbeing/personal<br>development activities, these projects<br>are always delivered with the ethos of<br>social welfare by giving them the<br>opportunity to experience the health,<br>social and unifying benefts of sport.<br>Beyond the technical sports tuition we<br>are giving them, the sessions promote<br>the values of discipline, commitment,<br>teamwork, cooperation and<br>sportsmanship.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Following the successful cooking<br>project we ran at Our Lady of Fatima<br>Church (White City) in February 2022<br>for the church’s junior members the<br>charity was commissioned to run a<br>further 2 cooking projects at the<br>church as part of the HAF funding<br>programme that seeks to provide<br>school holiday activities for young<br>people from low income<br>neighbourhoods that may be afected<br>by “holiday hunger”.<br>Our cooking/food education projects<br>provide a range of unique benefts not<br>just to the junior participants but also<br>their parents/families by introducing<br>them to healthy eating options on a<br>small budget.<br>There was an intake of 16 participants<br>on our project in the Christmas<br>holidays and a further 12 participants<br>on our February 2023 half term project<br>with participants aged 9-16 years old<br>from the White City Estate and<br>surrounding Shepherd’sBusharea|





learning new cooking skills and preparing healthy meals that were also considered culturally appropriate _[using Halal meats & a range of Middle East and African recipes that are reflective of the demography of the local community]._ In the classes they learnt how to make a range of dishes with supervision from our Head Coach, whilst also learning the correct food hygiene/prep practices, cooking techniques and food presentation. On the last 2 days of the project the young people selected their favourite dish (to cook by themself) from those practiced on the first 3 days. Their parents were invited to the church to watch them cook their dishes and then the young people were able to serve their meals to the churches elderly parishioners as part of a community lunch hosted by the Church. In October 2022 the charity were contacted by a charity in Zimbabwe called ZimConserve who expressed an interest in working with Goals4Giving to develop some football and community related projects with them in Harare, Zimbabwe where much of their work is based. After initial discussions via email and later phone conversations we agreed to initially try and support their existing sport projects with some sports kit donations. In November 2022 we travelled to Zimbabwe to deliver football shirts and other small pieces of sports equipment to support their grassroots football programme based in Mbare, one of Harare’s most impoverished and densely populated suburbs where the young people are acutely affected by drugs, crime and the associated pitfalls of poverty. 

On meeting with ZimConserve’s CEO (Gabriel Mutongi) we recognised his and the organisation’s commitment to improving the lives and welfare of the young people of Mbare and agreed to develop a more formalised partnership. Unfortunately due to the short duration of our visit we were unable to deliver a sports project on that occasion for the 



young people they work with but have discussed and agreed plans to do so in 2024. We will also look to support their aims of developing a local football academy for the young people of Harare who they will identify and nurture the talents of to play football at a higher level. We are extremely excited about this partnership and hopefully working with children & young adults from that community who may really benefit from the support we can offer them.

We were<br>able to identify a large enough cohort<br>of young people that receive free<br>school meals (one of the key criteria of<br>the funding) and deliver the project to<br>a community where there was a clear<br>needfor thiskind ofprogramme.|
