We review ouraims and objectives each yeartomake sure we are delivering them as stated. Our review looks atwhatwe have done inthe lastfinancial year and how farwe succeeded in delivering some of all of ourobjectives. Evidently, we deliver them on a year to year basis. We follow all Chanty commission guidelines in ensuring our aims and objectives are delivering a public benefit. During the year under review, we reiVed funding from three sources. The John Moores Foundation. The National Lottery Communrty Fund and from the Energy Industrial Voluntary Redress Scheme. Our Sierra Leone operations also received a grant from the Eleanor Rathbone Charitable Trust We have already received £33.556.99 as part of a two year fvnded project from the Energy Industnal Voluntary Redress Scheme that is administered by the Energy Saving Trust. The project involves advising vulnerable people across Merseyside on how to reduce their energy use and offering support to those facing self-disconnection. The support include home visits, telephone advice and holding or participating in community events We received £9800 from The National Lottery Communty fvnd for a °Leam to cook on a Budget Project for young people. We hired chefs who delivered workshops that reached 70 young people who taught about basic cooking skills, team working and while they need to cook their own meals to avoKI fast food and the health complications it usually causes. We received £2000 from the Eleanor Rathbone Charrtable Trust for a one year homeless project in Freetown, the caprtal of Sierra Leone. The John Moores Foundation gave us a £5000 grant for the part time salary of our Project Manager. We received small donations totaling £2500. Who used our SeYvlce8 We have reached 250 people in our energy savings advice sessions dun'ng communrty which we either organized or attended. We have offered 53 people face to face energy advice while we visrted 61 people at home to offer free energy savings advice and tips. 37 people received energy savings advice over the phone. A total of 134 households have received energy savings advice through our energy savings project. We produced three energy savings wdeos as part of the project which we uploaded to youtube and can be easily shared to people 35 young people have already attended the seven healthy cooking sessions we have organized where they leam how to cook healthy nutritious food on a budged. Feedback from some of the young people showed some had never cooked a complete meal before the classes and following the lessons, promised to avoid fast food in favour of healthy altemats'ves they will cook themselves. The cooking sessions gave them a chance to work as a team, create new friendships but above all, leam a vital life skill. Our energy
savings advice campaign is supporting beneficiaries to leam tips to reduce their energy consumption smartly and so reducing their energy bills. Our cooking lessons support young people to learn a new lrfe skill, buy and food on a budget so they can manage the cost of living crisis. On April 8 2020, Citizen Outreach Coalits'on company wasconverted from a company limited by guarantee into a Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO) Management Commltta•. COC has a management committee ofsix members who meetto reviewthe functh'oning of the organization. The management committee detennines the strategic direction of the charity, prepares financial statements, maintains proper accounts'ng records, selects suitablefinancialaccountingpoliciesandapplythem.Theymakesurethefinancial policies comply with charity commission rules. The Managementcommittee is headed byyvonne Ebu and Emmanuel Kiven isher Secretary General. Members ofthe Management committee provide theirseNices free ofcharge. Their rea80nable expenses are reimbursed. Members of the management committee who are trusteesforthepurpose ofcharty law and served duringthe year. Statement of Financaal Activities Financial Review Like all small charities, getting funding for projects in the present financial climate remains the biggest challenge we face. However. we recognize the present cost of INing sts'll affects the most vulnerable people in society and we work round the dock to provide the services and support we get to redu the daily challenges they fa. That is why the two projects we are presently delivering (energy savings advice and cooking on a budget) are directy relevant to the cost of living crisis. We will continue applying for relevant grants to support our cuslomers wth other cx)st of living issues they face. Rrve Pollcy We have a fit for purpose reserve policy that has set aside at least £5000 to protect our charity from sudden drops in income and also help us take advantage ofany new opportunities that may arise.
