to local Wattling businesses in the area. One
replied saying they would considered
offering Luhuvilo a grant for transport next
year, 2025. We since created a Grant Officer

its approval, which is taking longer than

visited the site with Trustee Lynette Llalero
in April 2024. The Managers House and
Orphanage were complete including
playground, cowshed, outside kitchen and
fence and gate all finished in the last 12
months.
Despite applying for a license as outlined in
the Law of the Child 2002 that states this
should only take 90 days we wait a year
later. Officials have visited the home and
verbally have praised the standard and
agreed to its opening as a home for street
children, however, we have not received
official paperwork.
Rev’d Nicola and Trustee David Laing visited
Njombe at the end of October 2024 to work
with our partners in the Diocese of South
West Tanganyika to resolve the issue and
discovered that the Diocese itself had
actually not completed the relevant
application. Bishop was informed
immediately and is now taking full
responsibility for the License.
The orphanage, although still awaiting
children provides work for local people. The| gardens are full, a playground has been made, avocado trees and nut trees planted and the two sisters trained in child care now live in the house for security reasons whilst preparing beds etc for children. During 2024 the Director of Luhuvilo
N.Teverson decided not to purposely
fundraise until the license was passed,
however, she was regularly invited to speak
about the challenges of overseas charity
work by establishments listed above and in

Social investment policy is being formulated
by the Dioceses in Njombe and we will be in
