|Policy on grant making|Para 1.38|In April 2024 whilst visiting Njombe we wrote<br>to local Wattling businesses in the area. One<br>replied saying they would considered<br>offering Luhuvilo a grant for transport next<br>year, 2025. We since created a Grant Officer<br>role in the charity to focus on this.|

Bishop Mhagama is overseeing<br>its approval, which is taking longer than<br>expected. The Managers House and<br>Orphanage were complete including<br>playground, cowshed, outside kitchen and<br>fence and gate all finished in the last 12<br>months.<br>Despite applying for a license as outlined in<br>the Law of the Child 2002 that states this<br>should only take 90 days we wait a year<br>later. Officials have visited the home and<br>verbally have praised the standard and<br>agreed to its opening as a home for street<br>children, however, we have not received<br>official paperwork.<br>Rev’d Nicola and Trustee David Laing visited<br>Njombe at the end of October 2024 to work<br>with our partners in the Diocese of South<br>West Tanganyika to resolve the issue and<br>discovered that the Diocese itself had<br>actually not completed the relevant<br>application. Bishop was informed<br>immediately and is now taking full<br>responsibility for the License.<br>The orphanage, although still awaiting<br>children provides work for local people. The|





gardens are full, a playground has been made, avocado trees and nut trees planted and the two sisters trained in child care now live in the house for security reasons whilst preparing beds etc for children.
