## **Objectives and Activities**

|---|---|

|Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document|Shoe Aid collects and redistributes unused, used, and unwanted
footwear throughout the UK and World. Our aim is to reduce shoe
poverty and reduce the impact on the environment from shoes sent
as waste to landfill. We receive footwear from donations mainly in
the UK|
|Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.|Shoe Aid has continued to support other organisations proactively
by supplying ‘fit for purpose’ footwear to support those most in
need. Our main demand has and continues to be footwear for
schools, social services, social enterprises, victim support groups,
Family groups, Refugee and Asylum charities. The levels have
continued to rise despite coming out of COVID restrictions. We
have seen a 30 fold increase in requests and school shoes and
trainers have continued to dominate the demand. We have
struggled times to meet this demand. Brexit also impacted on new
shoe donations throughout this period, meaning we had less in
bound. However, on the other hand output increased allowing an
even leaner operational performance|
|Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit|Shoe Aid has continued to support organisations and the wider
public with donations of footwear to give benefit in their lives. The
ongoing impact of COVID has impacted but now outbound
donations are increasing. We launched for the second time this an
event to raise the profile of footwear poverty and how we help as a
charity. The marketing pack for this campaign in included in our
report, the yearly event will be called STEPTEMBER, focusing on
the Tuesdays (Shoesdays) within September to raise funds, involve
the public in and organisations in footwear collections|

## **Additional information (optional)**

|Contribution made by
volunteers.|Volunteers continue to be beneficial and crucial in the development
of Shoe Aid as a growing charity. The Onset of COVID instigated
the charities decision to protect volunteers by reducing the working
hours of shoe aid and allow only members of staff to provide and
essential and urgent service. As the restrictions eased we have
allowed volunteers back into the warehouse and followed strict
guidelines. Our volunteer base has increased with the edition of
missionaries serving within the UK (in particular (Nottinghamshire)
and other volunteers from the teams4U charity based again in
Nottinghamshire|

|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Shoe Aid has partnered with a recently formed Charity, Sole Circle
UK, whose main function to work with Shoe Aid to collect trainers to
donate to young people living in poverty and in special education
environments. The turn of the year saw over 200 items donated
and all donated to schools and community organisations nationally
As we move towards the mid to end of 2022 Shoe Aid is working on
the third STEPTEMBER campaign to raise awareness and funds by
STEPPING UP to Footwear Poverty. As the local communities
became more aware of SA presence in Nottinghamshire, we have
seen a large increase again this past 12 months in donated
footwear to social support services linked to the local authorities,
schools, social enterprise, other national charities and local
business support groups. There has been a significant increase in
donations from the commercial sector boosting SA ability to support
more organisations, locally, regionally, and nationally.
Shoe Aid has made a number of significant donations during the
2021/22 year – SA donated more than 22,500 items of footwear to
support charities and groups in Cameroon, Ghana and Sierra
Leone charities, to support schools, orphanages and rebuild
communities following conflict and natural disasters.|

With the emerging conflict in Europe (Ukraine) SA is preparing to send outdoor footwear, work boots, children’s shoes, women’s shoes to support both those remaining in Ukraine and those fleeing to Moldova and Poland, it is estimated we will send in excess of 10,000 pairs overall SA continued to redress the issues of the previous year and rebuilt partnerships and maintained and grew outbound donations, here in Achievements against the UK and nationally. We have increased the number of volunteers objectives set both to support the main duties at the warehouse in Nottingham and logistics, delivering and collecting of donations. SA met its commitments to cashflow and budgets set We continued to be successful in receiving funding through the Rotary, Local and national communities and several private education providers who have supported SA both financially and with footwear donations.
