For the period beginning Octobei 2023 to October 2024, we gave OLrt 2,153 food parcels Éo families, couples and single clienls: feeding 2.934 adults and 1.993 chiklren. Volunteers from Kegworth kindty deliver food parce which we supply lo six house bound residents in Kegworth and Shepshed volunteer drivers deliver to three clients in Shepshed. We also supwrt three Ukrainian famil.es re-located to Shepshed. We continue to iecove fantastic support from the toc81 community- individtJaL8, schools, businesses. pubs. restaurants. churches, shorts, other cheritable organis8tions and Loughborough Univer5ty Students ACTION group. This year, we have also been pleased to welcome empbyees from Parker Meggitt and the Nottingham Buikling Society who have corne along on Mondays to help p¥ocess donab.ons and to restock the Foodbank in preparation for Tuesdays when the clents arrive. We are very gratefvl for all their help and support. Regular givers of monetary donations and grarts receNed, enable us lo purchase additional food for clients especially fresh cheese, eggs. butter and meal as well as a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables which are very much appieuated. Our weekly free delivery of -best before" food from Fareshare stopped in February this year. However, we sts"Il up "Best before" bfeadlb8kery iteryts from Asd8 on Mondays. We signed up lo the 'Neighbourty" Sche and are now 8t4e to collect surplus food from Shepshed Aldi on Tuesdays. This is most welcome. The 'shop model" whereby registered clients can now choose from a wide range of food every Tuesday for no charge, continues to be popular with bolh clienls and volunteers. In January 2024 we re-organised the stocktoom, PurChng heavy dLtty racking and boxes. This has proved very successfijl. In September 2024, the Caroline Sharpe Singers and the Loughboiough Concert Band held a fantèstic musical concert in aid of the Foodbank and the Shepshed Volunteei Bureau. This wa5 well supported and raised welcome funds foi both charities. In November/DecembeT 2023, our Reverse Advent Calendars brought in an overwhelrring amount of food donab"ons. Together with help from the Shehed 0s, local businesses and schools. we handed out 63 Christmas hampers, feeding 84 aduRs and 65 children. The Church of Christ in LoughboFough also provided gifts for each member of each hougehokl_ In Juty we saKI goodtye to Bob Ellett and his fantastic team from Free DA (Free Debt Advice). Bob's help and 8dvice to clients regarding benefits and debt over the years has been invaluable. He will be sorely rrlssed and we wtsh him well in his retirent. At the end of2023. Glenni5 Imlcox the founder of sh8pShd Foodbank stepd down. after ten years of hard work and total commitrnent. She is greatty lSsed. In June we celebrated her retirement with a delicious Aftemoon Tea- organised and prepared by volunteers at the Glenmore Centre. So many people came to wish Glennis well and to say a massive 'Thank You. for everythirig she had done to make the Foodbank the success it is today. She was presenled with gifts and flowers and seemed to Ihoroughly enjoy the afternoon. Sh8pshed Fo(KJbank could not operate without the support ofso many people. We are very fortunate to have a W0ndeJ1 group of volunteers who wtllingty give of their time to work tirelessly lo provide the very best outcome for all of our clients. This year several new volunteers joined Shepshed foodbank. bringing with them a range of skills and expethse_ Training courses in Safeguarding were organised foi every volunteer. Page3of7
