## **RAINBO MUSIC TRUST - ANNUAL CHARITY REPORT 2021 2022**
This report covers the period from 01/04/2021 when the Charity Registered, to the 31/03/2022, end of the Charity’s tax year. The total income was £5039.35, £3000 of which came from a grant from Bideford Town Council and £1500 from Bideford Bridge Trust. The total expenditure was £1685.25, leaving a balance of £3354.10. This was used to pay invoices for the 2021 Bideford Music Day event and workshops (the grant money was specifically granted for this).
Charitable Objectives: ‘To advance education for the public benefit in art of music by the provision of grants and donations to schools, colleges and community groups and individuals to enable wider access to music tuition and to assist the purchase/loan of musical instruments and equipment’
The charities expenditure was spent on the Bideford Music Day event – providing performers with a stage and audience, the event hosted various music workshops with the opportunity for participants to try playing instruments, to sing, and to perform on the main stage. This is meeting the charities objectives in enabling music tuition and benefiting the public. The Bideford Music Day is funded with grants from Bideford Town Council and Bideford Bridge Trust which covers the infrastructure costs and gives us a base to provide free workshops that are accessible to the whole community, with the opportunity for individuals to perform on stage. This year we increased the number of workshops available to people attending and gave many youngsters the opportunity to perform on different stages, including the main stage. We had a busking stage and a youth stage, which people could use to perform a single song, or more. We have used some donations to buy resources to go unit the resource packs for local schools. We have also built up a collection of donated instruments. Next year we would like to raise more money to get musical instruments into school and colleges and support more individuals, and to

promote the charities cause. We are looking into storage options for instruments we have collected ready to distribute then to those that need them. The appointment of a fundraiser has been unsuccessful as no-one appropriate has been able to volunteer their time to do this, we will continue looking for a suitable candidate.
