Promising Futures was established to support young people living, working or going to school on Castle Vale.

Trustees have found time despite the challenges presented by COVID to liaise accordingly to ensure applications are considered in a timely manner.

Once again we are pleased to report that we have been able to offer grants in both the main strands of funding. We were delighted to support two grass roots football teams with sponsorship that enabled them to widen their membership and further embed the opportunities they were providing.

COVID has clearly added to demand and as such we were pleased to be able to support in funding for stationary and educational activity packs distributed to over 200 families in the local community, and via a donation from INCA arts we were able to support 16 young people impacted directly by COVID, in many cases - through bereavement, in the purchase of an item gifted to them in the days preceding Christmas.

Supporting a young person to access counselling yielded some outstanding results for the individual - and is an area we hope to develop further.

We continued to benefit from donations from individuals and organisations, in particular a sizeable figure from West Midlands Police at the end of the reporting period, meant we were well placed to support scores of young people in the forthcoming year.

As ever we are keen to do more and look forward to building the charity and its reputation as time goes on.Thankfully we remain in a secure financial position for the coming year.
