1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure Is recognised once there is a lègal or constructive obligation to transfer economic beneffit to a
third paty, it is probable that a transfer ol economic benefits will b8 reqUI￿d in sellletn8nt, and the amount of
Ihè obligation can be measured reliabty.
Expenditure is c1assff￿d by actimty. The costs of each activity arè made up of the lolal of dir¢d costs and
shared costs, including support cost8 invofved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to 8 Single
ath.vity are allocated dire¢tly lo that acliwty. Shared costs whith conlribuie to rnore than ong activity and
support costs which are not attributable lo a single activity are appo￿"Oned bets￿en thos• a¢tivitses on a basis
consistent with tha use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent, and
