The Charity continues to strive to achieve the Aims set out in the incorporation document, raising awareness of Head and Neck Cancer, providing information and support; and advocating for patients, carers and people affected by the condition. 

## **Meetings** 

Four general meetings were held during the year, three were online via Zoom, one was face to face held in Birmingham. In addition, the Trustees met to approve submissions to the Charity Commission. 

## **Presentations** 

Presentations raising awareness and educating various groups were provided at Birmingham Dental College, for a large group of newly qualified Dentists and Birmingham City University, for several groups of Trainee Speech and Language Therapists. 

**Social Media.** The group met on five occasions, organising posts and increasing the numbers of followers on X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram and creating content for podcasts. In addition, a poster was created and displayed at the Irish Head and Neck Cancer Conference in Kilkenny highlighting the impact of the groups efforts in Raising Awareness. 

**Website.** The website (www.hancuk.org ) continues to attract positive comments and is frequently updated to reflect new innovations and information. 

## **Collaborations and consultations** 

HANCUK were directly involved in consultations from NICE, NHS(England) and NIHR; and hosted several meetings for the newly re-formed CRAF (Cancer Research Advocates Forum, formerly NCRI) 

Advising on, and leading on PPI for the EVEREST project based at the Royal Marsden, London; and the ALPS -HN project which is an adjunct to the EVEREST project 

Providing input into the GRIFT (Get it right first time) review of Head and Neck Cancer 

Reviewing and advising on proposals by pharmaceutical companies 

Reviewing early-stage potential research projects proposed by UCLH 

Providing information to National Press representatives for articles on Head & Neck Cancer. 

Attended 4 meetings of the UK Head & Neck Collaboration group based in London 

Assisted educational establishments including Universities in London, Liverpool and Sheffield in analysing projects, reviewing publications and raising awareness. 

## **Support** 

Signposted numerous individuals and organisations to relevant local, regional or national support services.
