Registered Charity number 1175162 Knowledge is Light Foundation Report and Accounts 31 March 2024 **Knowledge is Light Foundation Registered number: 1175162 Trustees' Report** The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024. ## **Principal activities** The main objective of the charity is to advance education and for the benefit of underprviledged children and the general public by means of providing educational activities and facilities such as schools, nurseries and training centres. The charity also provides food and medical treatment as and ## **Activities and progress** Knowledge of Light Foundation ensures and provides public benefit as follows: Daily educational facilities Hospital services Feed the poor ## **Trustees** The following persons served as trustees during the year: Abdul Gaffar Tayob Mahomed Faruk Ibrahim Patel Wahid Abdul Sattar Nauman Zahid Sheikh ## **Reserves policy** The Trustees aim to maintain sufficient reserves so as to give flexibility to cover temporary timing differences for donations received, adequate working capital for core costs and which allow them to respond quickly to the needs of the Trust. ## **Risk Management** The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate our exposure to major risks. ## **Results** The charity achieved a surplus of _350.00_ (2023: £27,308) for the year. This report was approved by the board on 16 November 2024 and signed on its behalf. M F I Patel Trustee 1 ## **Knowledge is Light Foundation** ## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Knowledge of Light Foundation.** I report on the accounts of Knowledge of Light Foundation for the year ended 31 March 2024, which are set out on pages 3 to 6. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner's report** My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair view" and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. ## **Independent examiner's statement** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: i) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act, have not been met; or ii) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Other income is accounted for on an accrual basis as far as it is prudent to do so. The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included. ## _**Resources expended**_ Resources expended are recognised in the period in which they are incurred.
