Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 In 2020/21 The charity continued to operate drop-in
centres at two locations. The charity gained increased
experience in providing support to clients, and trained
volunteers in the wide range of skills necessary to
support clients, and to help them negotiate to the
sometimes complex national and local government
mechanisms for obtaining services. Homeless clients
in particular are often have very restricted capability to
access necessary services, and support in accessing
and applying for services is essential. The charity also
developed very strong connections with local
agencies, in particular the New Forest District Council,
and the charity has now become a trusted partner in
supporting homeless people. The charity continued to
raise funds to meet it’s objectives. In early 2020 the
charity had to respond rapidly to the pandemic,
resulting in temporary closure of the drop-in centres.
However, clients continued to require support, and that
was provided whenever possible withing government
guidelines.
