## **Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields Association (TMPFA)**

## Chairman’s Report for the year ending 28th February, 2023

The past year has been virtually completely absorbed by attempting to recover from the effects of the pandemic. However, during this time, the TMPFA area has been kept in a state that is fit for use by the general public. All this has been achieved in a situation where the TMPFA has an income of little over £1 per day and relies on the goodwill of those who voluntarily support the Association.

Thank you to the Trustees who give their time so selflessly to ensure the continuation of the Trust: especially Guy Keenan, the Treasurer. I would also like to thank Steve Fry for his work on the Cricket pitch and its surrounds and to Dave Lane who assists whenever there is a need wherever it might be. I would also like to thank Andy Nelson for his efforts to keep the football fields, both the Junior and the Senior pitches, in condition sufficient to play matches on. Without the efforts of these stalwarts, the TMPFA would be in dire straits.

We have benefitted from the sale of the Tintagel Ladies’ Masonic Lodge as some of the proceeds from this as a contribution to the Children’s Play Area. The work on renewing the worn-out equipment in the area is under way and the some of the new equipment has already been installed and the remainder will be installed very soon.

In conclusion, we have managed to end the year in a stronger financial position than we were at the start. The Trustees are looking forward to the next year as a period of improvement to the facilities so that the people of the surrounding area can enjoy the facilities even more.

We are trustees of a small organisation, which due to lack of
membership has had to close.
All our assets have now been sold. The proceeds of the sale must
now go to charity in accordance with our Constitutions, which as
trustees we are now fulfilling.
It gives us pleasure to enclose a cheque for £40,000.00.
We hope this donation will go some way to help you in the
excellent work your organisation is carrying out.
We would appreciate a written acknowledgement upon receipt of
this donation to the address above.
Kind regards,
Zoe Bradshaw, Jill Smout, Lindsay Alford, Jane Edington.
