Objectives and Activities
Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document
Prevention of poverty by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.
Food Security
We deliver food parcels to areas stricken by disasters and to impoverished families under our support. Special food parcels are provided during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha, catering to the unique needs during these times.
In addition to these parcels, we organise hot meal programmes for children, the homeless, and day labourers. These parcels are a lifeline for many widows, orphans, and the elderly who lack a source of income. Our Food Project primarily operates in Pakistan, Yemen, Gaza, and Turkey (for Syrian Refugees). Nonetheless, in the event of a disaster in other countries, we extend our aid to alleviate their hardships.
Clean Water Access
In Pakistan, we construct water pumps and wells to facilitate access to clean water. We also distribute drinking water to families residing in camps in Gaza, Syrian Refugee Camps, and Yemen, ensuring they have access to this basic necessity.
Zakat Distribution
Our Zakat programme aids hundreds of families monthly, supporting educational programmes such as schools and IT centres. We sponsor students who are unable to afford fees for school, college, or university. While educational programmes are funded exclusively in Pakistan, in other countries, Zakat is distributed in the form of cash.
Health Projects
Our complimentary medical and eye camps offer free health checks and eye examinations to thousands who would otherwise be unable to afford medical consultations. This initiative, supported by general donations and Zakat, is operational in Pakistan.
Livelihood and Empowerment
At HCR, we firmly believe that empowering communities is the definitive route out of poverty. This conviction drives our focus on providing women with opportunities to lift their families out of poverty through sewing. Our training programmes annually enable hundreds of women and girls to graduate and commence their own tailoring businesses. This project is located in Pakistan.
Through these dedicated efforts, we are devoted not only to mitigating immediate distress but also to laying the groundwork for sustainable transformation. Guided by compassion and the principles of fairness, we strive to forge a world where every individual has the chance to lead a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life.
