**Objects:** The objects of the charity are to promote and encourage for the benefit of the public the improvement and protection of the English countryside, in particular that of North and East Yorkshire as defined by CPRE from time to time, and its towns and villages and the better development of the rural environment.

**Activities:** We endeavour to influence the policies and conduct of local and national government and other bodies, so that development is in the best interests of the people who live in North and East Yorkshire. We also seek to preserve the landscapes and townscapes for best possible outcomes in light of changing circumstances.
