Garforth & District Lions Club (CIO) became a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation on 4th October 2017.
The objects of the club are such purposes os are exclusively choritable in

Encouraging members to take an octive interest in the civic, cultural, social and morol

Providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest,, provided that
portisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members,.
Encouroging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward
and encouraging the promotion of high ethicL715tandords in commerce, industry,
profession5, public works ond private endeovours,.
Supporting youth to develop their skills, copocities and capabilities to enable them to
participote in society GS mature (7nd responsible individuals,.
Promoting the voluntory sectorfor the public benefit by ossociating with local
outhorities in a common effort to advance educotion and provide fGcilitie5 in the interest
of social welforefor recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions

Independent Examiner's Report to the Garforth & District Lions Club
Respective responsibilities The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The
of trustees and examiner charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section
144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent
examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the
Charity Commission lunder section 14515llbl of the Charities Act, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the
examiner's statement Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those
records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required
in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts
present a 'true a nd fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in
the statement below.
Independent examlner's In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention
statement l. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the
requirements:
to keep accounting record5 in accordance with section 130 of the Charities
Act; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply
with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act
have not been met,. or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understandin8 of the accounts to be reached.
