During the past year the activities of Hexham Community Association were seriously affected by COVID 19. However, the association was able to accomplish the following:

## Adult Training

Training on IT skills for the unemployed adults started on 29 July 2021. This was purely for those who have little or no IT skills. This phase of the training will be completed on the 18 December 2022. The group will progress later to intermediate computer skills in January 20222. The training will be mostly online. To enable them to do the training, Hexham Community Association applied for used computers from given out by RVA to help people from deprived community to be able to get access to a computer to enhance their skills and knowledge. A total of 5 computers have been received so far as a donation from RVA.

## **Challenges**

- The Association is still functioning under a reduced budget of £10,000 from the Council The Association Still struggled to recruit volunteers. This has had an impact on the extent to which the programmes can be extended to many more residents.

- Bookings for use of facilities at the Community Centre has decreased considerably compared to the previous year.

The trustees want to also take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for the wonderful job they have done over the year.

## **FUTURE PLANS**

1. Extend programme to Staverton Road

2. Advertising activities of Hexham to the wider community

3. Getting residents to be more active

4. Cultural shows

5. Wellbeing project for over 50s in collaboration with New Life Kingdom International Ministries charity
