Seabridge PTA Chairman’s Report
September 2020

The PTA is a charity registered in England. rIt is un solely by volunteers to raise money to help the school p rovide materials, resources and falilities for the beneft of everyone who uses the school.
This is an annual overview of the main achievements of the PTA over the past year. It is written not only as a means of summarising events and monies raised but as a way of paying t ribute, once again, for all the hard work, time, efort and sweat, which has gone into making each event and the year as a whole a successful one.
September 2019 began with Claire, Kirsty, Helen and Lindsay being voted into ofce by the rest of the PTA members, allowing them to continue in their positions as Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Vice Chair/Treasurer/Secretary and Secretary respectively. Claire resigned as Chair in July and we would like to thank her for her many years of support for the PTA.
Following this, October saw us hold another successful Fi rework Night. Held for the ninth time, this event was extremely successful raising just under £4,285! To give our children the opportunity to experience the theatrical culture of the wor dl , we paid £2,482 which is part of the ticket cost and rt ansport for them to go and see Peter Pan at The Staford Gatehouse in December. We all had a lovely time and the children really get a lot out of these t rips. For some children this is something that they would never experience in their lifetime, so for us to help parents with the cost of this is extremely worthwhile. Unfortunatley, there will not be a panto t rip this year, but hopefully it is something that will be reintroduced next year.
To celebrate Christmas we continued with the fund raiser where the children could design their own Christmas cards and other gifts, this raised £429. We had ra g eat response for this and dit is efnitely something else to reintroduce next year. The Christmas Disco - p roft £537 – once again had an excellent turnout and we continued the selling of tuck to the KS1 childre. The Christmas Fayre this year was again successful thanks to the rafe and good attendance. This is a lovely event, with a visit f rom Santa which always b rings a smile to the children’s faces! We raised £1,312 but unfortunately we a re unable to hold our Christmas Fayre this year.
Our ‘Fr di ay Night Curry’ took place for the second year and once again went down a very well! Mrs S r i is more than willing to do this again this term which is g reat news. Due to her donating all of the ingredients we made a p roft of £249.
We used the same bag company that we used last time for the used clothes bag collection this year We had only manged to hold one collection this time, but still made £148. March and madarch and madrch and madch and madd madmadde a p roft of £200.oft of £200. roft of £200.oft of £200.
The Fashion Show took place in March and madarch and madrch and madch and madd madmadde a p roft of £200.oft of £200.
For Mothers Day gifts we changed the gifts on ofer slightly f rom last year, and raised £444. We just manged to get the gifts home before the school was closed for the f rist lock down. We had many g reat fundraisers planned for the rest of school year which had to be shelved due to Covid, hopefully some of these will be able to be reinstated if not in this year, then in future years.
We a re lucky that some of our fundraising is able to carry on, the use of Amazon Smile raised £83 and Easy Fundraising raised £77, both of which were new last year. We hope that with increased parent sign up and online shopping that these will raise more for us this year.
The Lyme Lottery income has fallen slightly, it raised £792 last year. More a dvertising and promotion of this would be benefcial as it is an easy way to raise funds.
The accounts were audited for 2018/2019 by a local accountant who audits for the school and these were signed of.
We would like to thank everyone who has given their time and support this year. Now more than ever we a re needed to help support the school to p rivude the extras. Where possible we will a dapt our fund raising to continue during the Covid restrictions, but many events will be iunable to take place. We a re looking for new activities to a dd to our calendar to keep supporting the school, its puplis and parents. We look forward to working with you next year and continuing to build the success of Seabr di ge P rimary PTA.
Kind regards
PTA Committee

Basis of In d epen d ent Examine r ’s R epo r t
The examination included ra eview of the accounting records kept by the PTA and a comparison of the accounts p resented with those records. The p rocedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts p resent a 't rue and fair ' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
In d epen d ent Examine r ’s Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention :
