Charity Commission Annual Report October 2025

The last 12 months have been very busy but also pleasingly successful. Examples of this include the following:-

• A.G.M. with new Trustees joining over the last 12 months

• Annual Horticultural Show

• Monthly W.I. meetings

• 6 weekly Trustee Board Meetings (open to all!)

• Fortnightly Bingo

• Fortnightly Men’s Shed Club

• Fortnightly “Natter” Club

• Fortnightly “Ladies Lounge” Meetings

• Weekly Art Classes

• Twice Weekly Yoga Sessions

• Community Council Meetings - 3/year

• Regular Band/Group practices

• 5 mile charity fun run base

In Addition to :-

DIVAS’s Concert, Birthday Parties, Various Charity Fund-raising events, St. David’s Day Tea, Xmas Party, etc .

All these activities have created a steady income from Hall Hire, Community Council and other Grants etc. which in turn has enabled us to maintain a healthy Bank Balance.

The ongoing use of green energy and battery storage has lessen our rate of expenditure and at long last we have (after 5 years of trying!) finally managed to get the electric company to supply us with a smart meter. This now means that excess solar power produced from our panels is now a source of income rather than waste.

That all said, of course we have had problems. A water leak damaging ceiling tiles was eventually found and repaired at no cost, the solar panels supports were the cause and the installers rectified it.

We have been very kindly allowed to use part of Ludchurch Farm’s field opposite our present car park entry as an additional car park.

A grant application to provide fencing, gravel and lighting etc. had been made, but unfortunately on this occasion failed.

However, we have other options to explore and will be keeping everyone up to date as developments progress.

Until the area has been made safe, we are not officially using this area for parking, anyone who does park there does so absolutely at their own risk!

Thank you to all past and present Trustees, all volunteers who have given their time and efforts for free whether it was painting the Hall, managing the grass and grounds, cleaning the Hall, putting out rubbish bags, litter picking, hedging, giving expert advice freely, donating raffle prizes, putting up shelves, attending functions and all social events etc.etc!
