Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Sicklekan Sickle Cell foundation has
been operating on a reduced capacity
due to the ongoing health issues with
the founder and director having sickle
cell himself. In spite of that the founder
has been able to continue charitable
activities with aims to expand
operations from 2024 upwards in terms
of advocacy support and awareness, to
the following and more.
Our activities have been split between
a few virtual events via zoom, telephone
and teams calls as well as online
campaigning. As well as a few face to
face counselling and outreach services
Aswell as outreach to blood donors
from the black community to register to
give blood for sickle cell patients in
need. While offering services to
children, familes and affected by sickle
cell for support services.
Even though this year was challenging
on the founder with his health
conditions it was an improvement on
the previous year which was also very

challenging for us, the charity has still upheld its ethos of promoting awareness of sickle cell and assisting the local and wider community of sickle cell patients the best way we can. Physical Fundraising was able to be achieved this year which was limited in the previous year. To ease the load the founder has been able to raise some money for the charity privately to help operations. Will include the hiring of extra staff for fundraising and grant writing opportunities.

We continue to hear and help the patients in need while advocating for awareness, while also supporting patients who reach out to our organisation suffering from mistreatment at hospitals
