The Camera Club was registered as a tharitsble ino)rporated organisation on 22 September 2017, and started
operating in this form on 1 October 2017. Previously the activrties had been operated as an unincorporated
association. On 1 October 2017 a company owning the freehold premises where the Carnera Club operates, the
Camera Club Limited, became a 100% subsidiary of the chanty. On 31 January 2018 the prop8rty and other assets
and liabilitses of the Camera Club Limited were Iran$ferred to the Charity. On 28 August 2018 the Camera Club
Limited was dissolved. This reryorganisabon has smplified the governan￿ of the charity.
The trustees are appointed by the members of the chanty. No staff affj employed by the Charity, and it relies on the
assistance of volunteers for rt$ activities to operate.

parbcular by providing or as￿511n9 in the provision of ￿lUca￿.0na1. instructional and leaming athities and
inexpensive pholcgraph￿ facilitses in London.
The charity provides Iwo studios. four darkrooms and a digrtal suite for use by photographers of all abilities
inexpensivety in London. It also hosts a gallery, In Wh￿ there are regular exhibibons of photography over the year.
It is also available for use by extemal netsvorks of photogrdphets and local ¢ommunty groups, and is used to host a
variety of activths for members to learn rr￿re about varEd aspects of photography.
When ptanning new actmties the Trustees have ￿nsidered the Charity Commission guidance on publi¢ benefit
Achievemonts and Perforniance
This has been a successful year of rebuilding &tivty at the Club after a drffKull pertod of Covid ￿Strict￿lns. New
Comrnittee members have organised a much broader range of Club actwrties, so that the w*mbership has grown
during the year. The Club has a new websf(e, and this contains much more infomBknon about photography for
members. Use of the Club's studios has increased by aL￿￿t haK from the previous year. It 1$ now possible to book
studios and darkrooms online as well as by conts¢bng the steward on duty al the Club. The￿ has been a good range
ofexhibibons in the Club's Galw. In the summer there was an exhikntion in the Gallery ofwork by students studying
archrtecture of their ideas for redevebping the Club's premises. The popular winter and summer Members
exhib￿"onS were held. Much of the Club has been redecorated. and the Gallery's lighbng has been renewed.

There was a modest surplus of operats'ng inconk over ex￿￿lture for the year of £6,324. After the Club's
investments reduced in value by £9.319 in the previous year. they in¢>eased in value by £21,176 in this year
In May 2018 the Trustees agre￿1 an investment Fdicy for the Charity. recognising that each year the charity aims to
break even, recognksing that maintenance expendrture will wary from year to year. and that a surplus is aimed for in
years with low nHintenanc8 expandi￿re. The polry ts that SLfftient cash and fvn(Js should be in place to
meet likety working ca&¥tal needs and short-temi forese8able nTaintenance expenditure, with the remaining reserves
Invested in a suitably diversffied manner to mitsgate r￿k.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the prepar3bon of the ￿Ounts. The charity's trustees consider that an
audit is not required for this year {und8r sect￿￿ 14412) of the CharIt￿S Act 2011 (the A¢tll and that an independent
examination is needed.

My examination was carried out in accordance wth General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An
examination includes a review of the accounb'ng records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also indudes considerab'on of any unusual tlems or disclosuTrs in the a¢¢ounts,
and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide
all the evidence that would be required in an audi( and ￿nseqUen￿Y no opinion is given on whether the accounts

1. BASIS OF PREPARATION
The accounts have been prepared in accordanc* wtth Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 102}, wrth the Statement of Recommended Practice". Accounb'ng and ReFQrting by CharilEs
preparing their accounts in accordance wth FRS 102 and wilh the Charities Act 2011.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except for the revaluation of investrnents.
The Camera Club is a public benefit enw wrthin the meaniThJ of FRS 102.
2. ACCOUNTING POUCIES

Investment income is included in the ao))unts when rec•vable. Investment gains and losses include any gain or
bss on the sale of investments and any gain or loss ￿sU￿1ng from the revaluing investrnents lo market value al the
end of the year.
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost18ss accumulated dep￿CiatiOn, ex￿p1 in the case of the freehold land,
which is not depreciated. Buildings are depreciated on a slraighl line basis over 40 years. and improvements to
buildings over 5 years. Financial instruments compnsing debtors and creditors. cash and deposits are measured at
the cash amount expected to be received or paid, as apPropr￿te. Financial instruments comprising listed
investments are measured al their market ¥alue.

5. TRUSTEE EXPENSES
Four (three in 2021-22) of the Trvstees were re-imbursed during the year out of pocket expenses incurred
from third parbes of £6,4791£2,428 in 2021-22). None of the trustees have been paKI any remuneration, bul
in accordance wrth sect￿￿ 6121 (g) of the chanty'$ conslitutr'on they did receive the same modest allocation
of points for their service on the Commrttee as other memberyJ of the Committee, which can be redeemed
against use of the charity's facilities,
