## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

Beacon Park Tennis is a charity which is run by a group of trustees elected on 3-year terms at the Annual General Meeting.

We have no members but exist to serve the community by raising funding to resurface and manage the tennis courts in Lichfield’s Beacon Park.

The primary objective of BPT was to ensure we secured enough funding to complete the resurfacing project and, once confirmed, to manage the project itself with suitable contractors.

Now resurfacing is completed, our aim is to manage the court pricing and availability for the public, promote wellbeing and physical activity and support local schools and clubs for tennis and netball.

In deciding which activities to run this year the trustees of BPT have considered the guidance issued by the charity commission on public benefit and balanced this against the primary objective. In addition, we were mindful of the impact of the pandemic and restrictions placed on our team and customers

**Annual Report**

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** Our activities focussed on

- Ensuring the site remains safe and secure

- Ensuring that the courts are available for public use at low cost

- Outreach to schools and disadvantaged groups to promote health and wellbeing through tennis related activities

See Section D for details of activities in this period

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

Beacon Park Tennis could not have progressed without support from the local community, we continue to receive message of support and thanks from various groups.

We continue to welcome support in helping to manage the day-to-day activities of the court site Without our volunteers’ time and goodwill none of this would be possible.

Special mentions for Karen and James – event support and fundraising Mary – for supporting our management of finances James and Ian - for Maintenance crew volunteering

Also, a big thank you to all the trustees for their time and effort, not just in 2021 but since we were founded

Re5pon5ibilitles and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordan￿ with the requirements of the Chartties Act 20111'the ACYI. I report in respect of my
examination of the Trusvs accounts carried out under sertion 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying
out my examination I have foll0v￿d all the applicable Direttions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515}{b) of the Act.
Independent examinerfs ststement
I have completed my examination. I confim that no material matters have come to my attention in
connettion with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect=
l. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records: or
3. the accounts do not comply WFth the applicable requirements conceming the forni and content of
accounts set out in the Charities {Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2(M)8 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of
n independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached however I must note that this report hos been submitted post deadline due
to timing of the infonnation being sent to me to carry out this examination. Should an independent
examination be required in future then it is important to ensure that the infomation is received in a
timefy manner to allow sufficient time for review and preparation of the relevant documentation.
