## What has been achieved this year?

Visitors are impressed with the pre-school provision in a dedicated building with establishing outside area. The Early Years Curriculum is embedding and will run with a well resourced 2-year cycle. Assessment is undertaken by observing the children at play and collated in Learning Journals. The children make noticeable progress.

New astroturf has made outside accessible all year around. Community playthings tables and chairs enhanced the inside provision and a gazebo outside provides a covered area. The children are enjoying learning through play inspired by half termly topics and resources such as instruments, steps, etc. have supported identified gaps discovered from assessing learning.

The children enjoy venturing out from their provision into the school reception class provision in particular and also to see the chickens, sculptures etc around the school as well as attending ‘Huff and Puff’ physical development at the Regis Sports Arena.

The staff and Committee have worked hard to keep up to date with safety and safeguarding requirements vis courses and on-line learning. Vulnerable children are effectively supports and the needs of children are met. Covid had had an impact on progress. Links with the school and reception class have strengthened with a 2-way benefit. Funding from WSCC for 3 year olds and eligible 2 year olds supports the core hours. The cost of additional hours is very reasonable and is the least expensive locally.
