Financial Review Review of the charity's financial position at Ihe end of the period Pwa 121 Income showed a slgnlficantty decrease compared wlth 2022-23. partly due to th• lack of an appointee to the role of Blshop's Officer for the Homeless which had attracted significant dedicated Support In the prevlous year. However, due to the reduced need for funding for the Bishop's Officer for the Homeless the year ended with a small surplus of £1.353 and the charlty eontlnues to hold healthy reserves. which are Sufficient to cover some thra• years, budgeted expenditure. QGtJQ Cambridge Churches, Homeless Project November 2024 Dear Sir or Madam Thank you for your interest in delving deeper into our accounts. We appreciate your interest and the fact that you are taking care over whether you might consider giving us money. l am very proud of this charity and excited about its future, while being very grateful for our forebears who saw the need in this great city and galvanised the churches to respond. We are in a very exciting phase: a month before these accounts closed, on 1st September 2024, the Bishop of Ely appointed Revd. Kristian Hewett as the new Bishop's Officer for the Homeless. This is a full-time appointment with a remit to provide practical and chaplaincy support to the homeless community in the Cambridge area. Kristian has made a great start In the role, which is wholly funded by CCHP and the Cambridge South Deanery, and he works very closely with us. His support team are also employed by and wholly funded by CCHP. Our approach to the work is shifting somewhat and we are pleased to be able to develop a chaplaincy course in association with Ridley Hall in Cambridge. The emphasis is on helping church members to minister to the homeless and vulnerable in our city and equipping them to senie. We are not doing this to be the churches, response to homelessness, we are seeking to galvanise and improve the way in which the churches serve. Please be in touch with us to find out more. I can guarantee you that this is a very worthwhile organisation to get behind (well, I would say that, wouldn't l?) and a little money goes a long way. Please email me (-avin cch .uk) if you want to find out more about our approach. In Him Registered Charity 1174768
