|The Trustees present their report and accounts for the period since registration<br>at 21stSeptember|2017.||
|Objectives ofthe Charity|||
|To prevent or relieve poverty amongst<br>asylum seekers and those granted refugee status, and their|||
|dependents,<br>living (temporarily<br>or permanently)<br>in StHelens and the surrounding<br>area, by providing,|||
|but not limited to, information,<br>advice, and language<br>skills.|||
|To advance the education and training of asylum seekers and those granted<br>refugee status,|and their||
|dependents,<br>living (temporarily<br>or permanently)<br>in St Helens and the surrounding<br>area, soas to|||
|advance<br>them in life and assist them to adapt viithin a new community.|||
|The provision ofservices Ifacilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for asylum|seekers||
|and those granted<br>refugee status, and their dependents,<br>living (temporarily<br>or permanently)|in StHelens||
|and the surrounding<br>area with the object ofimproving<br>the conditions of life ofthose persons|who have||
|need ofsuch facilities by reason oftheir financial<br>hardship<br>orsocial and economic circumstances.|||
|The advancement<br>of human<br>rightsfpromotion<br>ofracial harmony<br>and diversity<br>for the public benefit||by|
|education<br>and raising awareness<br>in equality and diversity,<br>and promoting<br>activities tofoster|||
|understanding<br>between people from diverse backgrounds.|||
|The relief offinancial<br>hardship<br>or other disadvantage<br>amongst<br>asylum seekers and those granted|||
|refugee status, and their dependents,<br>living (temporarily<br>or permanently)<br>in StHelens and the|||
|sunounding<br>area, by providing<br>financial support and Iorguidance.|||
|Governance<br>and Trustees|||
|The Charity is not a company,<br>but registered as a Charitable<br>Incorporated<br>Organisafion<br>(CIO) and|||
|governed<br>by a model constilukon<br>adopted an 21stSeptember 2017.|||
|The Trustees named on page 1 form a committee<br>who are responsible<br>forthe management|ofthe||
|Charity and its activiTies.|||
|New Trustees can be appointed<br>by a resolution<br>ofthe existing Trustees.|||
|Training and induction<br>is provided<br>verbally by existing Trustees.|||
|Oetails ofactivities and achievements<br>for the year|||
|Our Warm Welcome StHelens continued<br>to operate from the Parish Church<br>hall in the town|centre here in||
|St Helens and it must be added that the partnership<br>has been beneficial to ag. The premises|have|been fully|
|utilised<br>with the drop-in cafe now upstairs<br>and the English lessons downstairs.|||
|In addition we have had to take on visits to Ihe hotels to deliver clothes and other resources|as new occupants||
|have been arriving<br>with very few clothes.|||
|Partnership<br>is the key word end whilst ag agendas<br>continue to be stretched<br>support continues tobe offered.|||
|These partners<br>included the British Red Cross as well as avariety ofother partners<br>including|Housing||
|Associations,<br>Health Professionals,<br>Refugee Women Connect. Parish Nurse, St Marks, Tango and SHAP.|||
|Over the year funding<br>has been received for operational<br>costs including<br>transport,<br>equipment,<br>and||food supplies|
|from Tesco, Cyclists Club UK, St Helens Parish Church and St Helens Council.<br>The Bike Shed operates once|||
|a month and over 70 hikes have been refurbished<br>and issued over the period thanks toa grant from Cyclisis|||
|Club UK the The Big Bike Revival.|||
