## **Achievements and performance** 

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The Charity continued the disbursement of<br>grants approved as part of the Research<br>Development Award instigated in August<br>2022 following the success of the 2021OAHP<br>Charity Awards.<br>Payments were made during 2023/2024 to<br>the University of Cardiff, to University of<br>Oxford,  to Newcastle University and to<br>Oxford Brookes University;  to Oxford<br>University Hospitals (to back fill for hours<br>released for research) and to two individuals<br>for reimbursement of sums they paid for<br>approved courses of study.<br>The Research Development Award<br>continued to focus on the development of<br>research capability and capacity across the<br>Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health<br>Professions, Pharmacists and Healthcare<br>Scientists (NMAHPPS) working across the<br>four partners.<br>Highlights included the award of Distinction<br>for**Zoe Miles, Occupational Therapist,**<br>working in Hand surgery at the Nuffield<br>Orthopaedic Centre,  in the Module:<br>Research Methods at the University of Derby<br>she undertook with the support of the OAHP<br>Charity.  The work covered the following<br>‘What are therapists in England doing<br>postoperatively for CMCJ-OA surgery and<br>why is this relevant.’<br>In addition **Amanda Colston, Senior**<br>**Research Nurse**, at the Clinical Research<br>Facility Team Lead, Oxford Health NHS<br>Foundation Trust was awarded a distinction<br>in the second year of her MSc Course,<br>(supported by the Charity) resulting in the<br>award of PGDip in Clinical Research.<br>Both Amanda and Zoe are continuing their<br>studies at the University of Cardiff and<br>University of Derby, respectively.|

Reports have been received from Award recipients outlining the impact on their individual careers and ways in which improvements/developments in patient care have been achieved. In addition, funds were received in March 2024 following a decision of the Oxford Academic Health Partners Board to award £20,000 to the Charity to continue to support the development of the NMAHPPS workforce with a focus on research and improvements in the delivery of patient care through a Research Showcase planned for the summer of 2025 building on the success of the event held in June 2024.
