## **Trustees’ Annual Report 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025** ## **Objectives and activities** Setmurthy Parish Hall (SPH) operates and maintains the land and buildings at Setmurthy Parish Hall CA13 9SL under a 35-year lease granted by the Diocese of Carlisle in 2019. Its activities are focused on organising social events and promoting the use of the hall by others for social, recreational, educational and religious activities, thus providing a venue for local interest groups and the village church, St Barnabas. SPH has had due regard to the public beneft guidance published by the Charity Commission. ## **Achievements and performance** During the year, SPH organised some well-attended events, including a Burns Lunch and a Plant and Cake Sale (jointly with St Barnabas). Additionally, the Hall was the venue for a wreath-making class and served as the venue for three church events and the St Barnabas DCC meeting. Cumbria Lace Makers held their regular monthly meetings at the Hall, and a series of Further Education learning events were held at the Hall most Tuesdays throughout the year. Grateful thanks is offered to Brian Marrs for keeping the grounds beautifully kept, and to Rick Petecki for auditing our accounts. ## **Financial review** Cash at bank at 30th September 2025 was £9,848 in unrestricted funds, down £567 on last year. There is no reserves policy in place. ## **Structure, governance and management** SPH is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commission on 18[th] September 2017 under charity number 1174689 with its main address being Low House, Setmurthy, Cockermouth CA13 9SL. It is governed by a CIO Foundation Constitution that has not been updated since registration. Trustees are elected or re-elected by the inhabitants of Setmurthy at the Annual General Meeting, with additional trustees being appointed or co-opted as necessary.
